The French diner was a very cozy restaurant with amazing food. Everything I tried had a perfect char and familiar and very intense French flavors. Great for sharing plates with a friend if you're willing to sit in a tight space and speak above the loud ambient noise.

Had the most pleasant surprise when trying our luck around 10:30 on a Saturday night where we found two open seats waiting for us at the counter. Almost everyone there was on a date and it makes sense… the space is unpretentious and rugged, but cozy and embracing all at once. The authenticity in having the whole kitchen right in front of you contributes to the charm, as does the limited seating, lighting, and inviting service. Sebastian, our server, was lovely to chat with, he is both warm and passionate. We ordered the Green Salad, Grilled Asparagus, and Grilled Octopus and would recommend all. The wine also delicious! Le French Diner is an absolute gem.

If you’re looking for an intimate, authentic dining experience that feels like a teleportation to a Parisian side street, Le French Diner is it. The Ambiance This is the ultimate date spot. It’s incredibly small and cozy, which creates a warm, bustling energy that feels exclusive rather than cramped. Because of the size, it’s best for a duo. We arrived at 4:45 PM on a Wednesday to get in line; they opened at 5:30 PM, and we were seated immediately. You probably don’t need to arrive before they open to get a sear during the weekday. The Food The food was nothing short of fantastic. Every dish felt intentional and perfectly executed. Two absolute must-orders: •    The Chickpea Pancake: A unique, savory start with the perfect texture. •    The Hangar Steak: Cooked exactly to medium-rare, tender, and seasoned beautifully. It’s easily one of the best versions of this cut I’ve had in the city. The Service The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear they care about the food and the experience. Just keep in mind that because the kitchen and floor space are so limited, the service can get a little slow during peak hours. Don't come here if you're in a rush; come here to enjoy the wine, the company, and the atmosphere.

We arrived around 5:10pm on a Saturday night and were marked for the second round of seating (about 20 people ahead of us in line at that time). The restaurant called me around 6:35, we sat at 6:45. If I were to do it again, I would get in line around 4:45pm to be seated at 5:30. For dinner we ordered the steak tartare, foie gras, octopus and escargot. Most of the items come with some fresh, warm bread. The pana cotta dessert concept was salty and a little sweet - a nice off-ramp to the flavors of the rest of the meal. Aside from the bar, only 2 tables that can snugly fit four people. Otherwise you should expect to sit at the bar. It’s a special place, definitely worth visiting and returning to.

This spot has been on my list of spots to try for a while. We two got there just before 5:30 when they open and missed the first seating - people had lined up before 5. They took my name and number and called us for the second seating at 7:30. We sat at the bar and enjoyed everything. The boiled eggs, socca, duck terrine to start, and steak and duck entrees with a lovely bottle of Rhône. The dessert was so nice too. Great spot overall!
