We recently had dinner at Pera with a larger group, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and stylish, making it the perfect spot for a fun group outing, a girls' night, or even a date night. The food was incredible. Our table ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees so we could try several different dishes, and every single item was delicious. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the quality and flavor of the food. The staff came checked in on us and make sure we were enjoying the food and the experience. A special shoutout to the espresso martinis—they were absolutely amazing and made to perfection AND came to our table super quick. They were a huge hit with our group and quickly became one of the highlights of the evening! Between the great food, fantastic drinks, and fun atmosphere, Pera delivered a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend giving it a try, and it's definitely earned a spot on our list of regular dinner destinations.
What impressed me most about Pera Soho was not simply the quality of the food, but the thought process behind it. As someone who grew up around Mediterranean flavors, I thought I had experienced most traditional ingredient pairings. The calamari, sucuk, and hot pepper combination proved me wrong. Each ingredient retained its own identity while contributing to a remarkably balanced and layered flavor profile. The smokiness of the sucuk, the tenderness of the calamari, and the gentle heat of the peppers created a harmony that was both unexpected and captivating. It was one of those rare bites that makes you stop the conversation for a moment and focus entirely on what is happening on the palate. The same attention to detail was evident in the Espresso Martini. After speaking with the bartender(Erkut🍀) about the preparation, I gained a deeper appreciation for the amount of care, technique, and precision behind the final result. Understanding the process elevated the tasting experience itself and added another layer of respect for the craft. What I appreciate most is that these dishes and drinks do not feel designed to impress through excess, but through balance, restraint, and execution. In a dining scene where originality is increasingly difficult to find, discovering combinations that genuinely surprise an experienced palate is rare. Pera Soho delivered exactly that. A memorable culinary experience built on creativity, technique, and a clear understanding of flavor.
The food was average at best, and considering the small portions and high prices, I can't recommend it at all. It's very easy to find good Mediterranean food in NYC and this place really disappointed me. None of the food tasted or looked fresh, which was the most evident in the salad, where all the ingredients were mushed together. The staff was distracted: they forgot things, they took a plate away with food and I had to ask them to return it, and generally weren't around to check. The summer garden and trendy interior are very nice, but the electronic music got old quickly.
Best Mediterranean-American fusion food ever! We had the lamb and chicken kababs with a variety of mezza- mixed olive kofta with cottage cheese and everything was absolutely delicious. The baklava was hands down the best dessert I’ve ever had—so light, not overly sweet, and perfectly filled with pistachios - Oh my goodness! The service was excellent as well.
Mediterranean gem in SoHo that offers a stylish setting and friendly, attentive service. The fried calamari is some of the best I’ve had and the octopus is remarkably fresh. Both the steak frites and the ocean-fresh snapper filet were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The baklava provided the ideal sweet finish to an overall delicious dining experience. It’s a must visit for anyone seeking great service and high quality seafood.
