Dined here twice for restaurant week and had an incredible experience both times. The tuna tartare is light, bright and delicious. The lobster dumplings were full of flavor but not overly salty - another excellent starter. The summer salad with burrata was delicious. Onto the mains - the steak frites with the chimichurri sauce was sooooo sooooo sooooo good. Perfect medium rare and so well balanced. The beef tallow fries were a treat as well. We also tried the salmon which was decent and the French toast here was a crowd favorite. This kitchen pumps our consistently good food. Excellent value and such an amazing spot. Service is great as well.
Dear Readers, Review for Wine + Food Pairing Banfi Tasting Year Review: 2026 Winemaker : Banfi ( Italian ) Cost: $100+ per person Room: Upstairs Dining room The room is spacious and set up in a way that every member can look at the speaker while enjoying the meal. The room design is a fancier style in comparison to the tavern style downstairs. The table is infront and everyone sat on the counch side ( comfy ). If you ask: you can get their Penguin plushies next to you! Cute
This place has greatly exceeded my expectations. I recently came here for the Banfi event that showcased several wines from the Castello Banfi Wine Resort in Tuscany. From the moment I walked in till the last sip of my Banfi Rosa Regale, service was impeccable. The staff were fast, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Shoutout to Amanda, the manager — she was constantly checking on us to make sure the food, wine and experience were to our satisfaction (A+ for customer service). The Banfi representatives also knew how to have a good time, were very knowledgeable and ensured our glasses were full. The event was a $135pp 5-course prix fixe menu with wine pairings. We expected the wine to be good and it met our expectations. They gave a variety of wine that were dry, balanced, sweet, acidic, etc. The food is what impressed us the most because we weren’t expecting such delicious well-portioned food paired so excellently with the wine. The night started off refreshing and light with oysters with mignonette and granita and succulent seared scallop with a vinaigrette. Then we moved onto the star of the night, the lobster & truffle risotto — it was creamy, rich and cheesy, topped with generous portions of lobster and truffle. The risotto was so good, we requested it to be a permanent item on their menu (thank you Amanda for suggesting risotto for this event). The last savory dish was a decadent dry-aged ribeye with a side of bone marrow topped with mushroom and pecorino. The dessert was a chocolate mousse cake with berries and rose petal cream. Kudos to the chef for creating such delectable food that paired perfectly with the wines. Overall, the night was fun, exciting, filling and more than satisfactory. Everyone from the representatives to the manager to the servers were professional, knowledgeable and hospitable. The other diners around us were also so friendly and fun (probably because we were all getting drunk). The food was delectable, filling and surprising. The wine was spectacular, varied and bottomless. 10/10 experience. I will definitely be signing up for their future wine events. P.S. you can ask for their humongous penguin plushie to join as a dining partner
We hosted a small cocktail and dinner for 20 people and it was fantastic. Amanda, the manager was superb and in tune with us, our guests and made the event a wonderful success! delicious Scallops, vegetarian dumplings, for those who eat pork: their hanging bacon is highly coveted and all went on the table! All the food and desserts were delicious. I would highly recommend dinner but also a party here.
I pass this place all the time, but today I saw a Restaurant Week sign and decided to try it. Small spot. Not crowded for lunch, but enough people that it didn’t feel awkward, and it wasn’t noisy. I’m not a big drinker, but I usually try a cocktail from the menu. The drinks listed on their website weren’t on the current menu, and nothing else sounded good enough to spend $20 on one drink. For lunch I ordered the Caesar salad and the steak frites. The Caesar was a generous portion but otherwise totally forgettable. The only memorable part was the croutons, and even those were oddly soft, with no crunch at all. The steak was horrible, honestly. It smelled weird, almost fishy, and it was extremely tough. I ordered it medium. It looked medium, but they bring it out on a sizzling plate and the underside was way overcooked. My biggest complaint was the service. I understand there was only one person serving the whole place, but I wasn’t checked on even once. My water got refilled, which was the only saving grace. No one asked how the food was, if I wanted anything else, or gave me a chance to ask for steak sauce to help the sad steak go down. After I was clearly finished, the restaurant emptied out and I still had to put my coat on and walk up to the bar just to get my check. I really hoped I’d like this place and find a new lunch spot in the area, but it wasn’t worth it, even during Restaurant Week.
