Spectacular service and food. Great atmosphere! Fish and chips are awesome! I love fish and chips and usually it is hit or miss. But here at Dame, it's a burst of flavor and crunch. Love it! I will be going back! Whitefish with crudite and tuna tartar were both delightful, but once again, the fish and chips was the star! And the cherry lime tart is a standout for dessert. A wonderful ending for my birthday dinner! 😘
After all the hype, I finally tried it myself. The fish in the fish and chips was fantastic. Light, flaky, juicy....the chips were just ok. But still, the fish made the dish. I also had the smoked whitefish crudite and tuna tartare, both also very delicious. Service was attentive with a smile, very welcoming. All in all, a great meal.
We finally made it to Dame, after wanting to try it for years, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We went for dinner on Tuesday and ended up tasting almost everything on the menu (except the mains!). Standouts for me were the oysters, the cucumber salad with smoked mussels, the hiramasa with snap peas and mint, and the tuna tartare, each dish was fresh, creative, and beautifully balanced. We weren’t planning on dessert, but I ordered the sticky toffee pudding anyway… and it ended up being one of the highlights. Everyone at the table had a bite, and we finished it completely, so worth it. The service was warm and thoughtful throughout, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Such a special spot, we’ll definitely be back!
In my opinion, Dame is one of the best restaurants in the city. The dishes are creative, fresh, and perfectly balanced in flavour. We had the oysters, tuna tartare, polenta with eel, beans and mushrooms, and of course the fish and chips. Each dish was unique, different from the others, and consistently delicious. The service is just as good. The staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. It was a really great experience, and I’m looking forward to coming back.
The squid & scallions appetizer and fish & chips main course were must have's. The grilled oysters and tuna tartar toast were also quite good. The place is a little cramped but the atmosphere is cozy and warm.
