If you’re an oyster lover, Grey Lady is definitely worth checking out. Their happy hour is one of the best deals I’ve found—they offer $1 oysters every day until 7 PM, including weekends, which is hard to beat. The oysters were fresh and served with two house sauces: a flavorful garlic sauce and a spicy sauce that both complemented the oysters really well. It’s a nice change from the usual setup. If you’re more of a traditionalist, you can always ask for classic cocktail sauce, and they’re happy to bring it out. We also ordered the crab dip, and it was excellent. What impressed me the most was the generous amount of real crab meat—they definitely don’t skimp on it. The dip was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, making it perfect for sharing with the table. Every bite had plenty of crab, which isn’t always the case at other restaurants. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. Between the fresh oysters, delicious crab dip, and unbeatable happy hour pricing, Grey Lady offers fantastic value. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or meeting friends after work, it’s a place I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone who enjoys seafood.
Wine down wednesday happy hour iktr. Half off bottles of wine, $6 drafts, $1 oysters. All of them hit the spot. They had a draft called Lil Shucker that was supposedly designed to pair perfectly with oysters and I can’t tell you if it really did because I’ll just drink any beer but it was a good combo. Also had the Lobster Mac which was fireeeee, had a decent amount of lobster, good cheese consistency, and a nice broil on top.
Came for happy hour - had their $20 burger + martini combo. The burger was soooo good. Wasn’t a fan that it was limited to regular martinis or dirty martinis, but the food was good. Service was slow at first but everyone was super nice.
I recently hosted an engagement celebration at Grey Lady, and I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am for the staff, the support, and the incredible service we received. From the very beginning, the reservations team was responsive, helpful, and patient in answering all of my questions, which made the planning process feel smooth and stress-free. On the day of the event, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my family, friends, and I had everything we needed. They were attentive, kind, professional, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Grey Lady helped create an experience that we will remember for a lifetime. The atmosphere, service, and hospitality were exactly what we hoped for and more. I cannot thank the team enough for making such a special milestone feel even more meaningful. I would highly recommend Grey Lady to anyone looking to host a celebration or special event in NYC.
Loved it. Such a welcoming atmosphere. Happy Hour with 1.00 Oysters is amazing. Tim, the bartender, had amazing energy. Cozy place, very down to earth. It is pricey but well worth it. Awesome drinks and nice fresh oysters 😋 A little Nantucket sea shack right in the heart of the Lower East Side
