Wonderful tasting menu. Food was excellent and ultra creative. No negative notes, each dish had a variety of flavors and textures and we were delighted with every bite. Delicious food and decent portions for be price. Decent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Would absolutely return.
This place serves French cuisine with a Japanese touch making the food overall light and refreshing. I usually find traditional French food a bit too heavy so this was right up my alley. The opening amusebouche felt like a Japanese dish and was a wonderful start to the meal. I loved how the chef kept an eye on the tables to make sure everything was perfect, adding a personal touch to the experience. The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. Honestly, the level of food and service felt like a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
How did this place get a Michelin star? The best part of the meal was the bread and the 2 morel mushroom garnish. Service was good, decor was pretty but food was horrendous. Cocktails all sounded good but the one I had tasted terrible. Dover sole was the opposite of tender and super bland. The poultry was also bland and the pate portion was so off I wanted to spit it up. Both desserts were some of the most horrible dessert I’ve ever eaten. The first one was just mounds of citrus peel that I couldn’t even get onto my spoon. The second had rhubarbs pieces that tastes more like the pickles you get with rice at a traditional Japanese meal. And the yogurt ice cream was unbearable. Do not waste your $255 here, I wouldn’t even pay $50 to eat this! Their sister restaurant Muku was spectacular, so I couldn’t believe the food at l’abeille could be so terrible.
L’Abeille is a very cute and elegant fine-dining restaurant. Honeybee decorations appear everywhere—from the staff uniforms to the napkin holders—creating a charming and cohesive theme. All of the dishes are served on beautifully designed ceramics that enhance the overall presentation. The tasting menus are thoughtfully prepared and very creative. Each dish arrives with delicate garnishes and impressive combinations of ingredients. I chose the petite tasting menu, but the portion sizes were too small to satisfy my appetite, even though I normally have a small stomach. I would recommend that anyone visiting order the 7-course set instead for a more satisfying experience
We opted for the Signature Menu, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. What makes l'abeille so special is how the chef incorporates delicate Japanese touches into classic French cuisine. Because of this, the tasting menu never feels overly heavy or rich; instead, it is incredibly balanced, nuanced, and comforting all the way to the dessert. The wine list is also spectacular, particularly their Burgundy selection. We paired our meal with a bottle of Dureuil-Janthial, Rully 1er Cru "Le Meix Cadot" 2022. The wine's elegant acidity and creamy texture beautifully bridged the seafood and meat courses, elevating the chef's complex sauces perfectly. Impeccable service, an intimate atmosphere, and food that leaves a lasting impression. I am already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!
