Had my last meal in NYC before leaving the city for good after living here for a few years. Went specifically for the burger, and it’s the best burger! The staff was so kind and hospitable that they offered a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate. 10/10, would recommend any day!
Had an excellent meal here for my father's birthday. We went with the tasting menu - it wasn't cheap but it was nice to try a wide selection of dishes. Overall the food was very good, with the tortellini, the Waygu and the burger being the standouts. (We ordered one burger à la carte for the table and split it). The fish was just ok. We went on a Monday (we're all all wine nerds and took advantage of the low corkage policy on Mondays). To have a Michelin starred restaurant allow outside wine at a fir price is rare indeed and the staff's service and kindness were exceptional. I would very much like to go back and order à la carte from my favorites.
Deserving of the Michelin with one minor timing hiccup. THE FOOD: I ordered the cheeseburger, and it is truly one of the best I’ve had in the city. With a fresh bun, double patty, onions, and the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce, it was a truly harmonious balance. The crispy potatoes were also excellent. THE SERVICE: While generally good, the timing was a bit lacking. My biggest complaint was that the potatoes arrived long after the burger had been served—it’s frustrating to receive a side when the meal is already half over. I mentioned it twice, but the staff didn't show much urgency in rectifying it. Otherwise, they were attentive. ATMOSPHERE: I loved the vibe. It’s a beautiful interior spread across three floors with an exposed kitchen so you can see the action as you pass to your table. The space is tiny and intimate, but that only adds to its incredible charm. This place is deserving of a Michelin star with just a few tweaks to the service pacing. I’ll definitely be back!
Had a great evening at One White Street. The service was outstanding, and they gave me a perfect seat at the bar with a great view of the chefs in action. I started with a salad that was incredibly fresh and flavorful, full of green beans, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers sourced from the restaurant’s own farm. For my main, I went with their much-hyped burger since it was my first time here—and wow, did it deliver. So beefy and juicy, and the Stilton just took it over the top. Definitely one of the best burgers in the city. Finished with the fig tart, which was an outstanding way to end the meal. Overall, a fantastic dinner. I’ll definitely be back.
I visited this restaurant on the 7th of October and had a reasonably good time. I ordered the Wagyu Burger, which was absolutely lovely. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. I had a brief chat with the chef (lovely south asian girl) while I was there, and she was so warm and genuine. I complimented her on the burger, as it really was excellent. The service was okay - I had three different servers throughout my visit. They all seemed nice enough, though a bit ambivalent or slightly off in their interactions. It might’ve just been the start of their shift or a quiet moment, but the energy felt a little subdued. Overall, though, it’s a nice spot and one I’d certainly recommend.
