We visited Mission Ceviche Union Square with a group of five during NYC Restaurant Week and tried the $30 prix fixe lunch menu. The menu offered a great selection, showcasing flavorful Peruvian cuisine with Asian influences. We also ordered some appetizers to share, and everything was fresh, well presented, and delicious. Our server, Jasmine, was professional, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a stylish modern interior, comfortable seating, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The only downside was the drinks. Cocktails priced at $24–$26 felt a little expensive, especially given the small serving size. I ordered a virgin mojito, which was refreshing and well made, but at $16 for a mocktail, it also seemed on the pricey side. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were excellent. I’d happily return and would definitely recommend Mission Ceviche, just be prepared for the drink prices. I’ll give it a 4.8/5 for the cuisines
Gio is an incredible server! We had a great time here. And he gave us free zero proof champagne for my birthday because I don’t drink!!! What great service!
Love this place. Food is 3.5-4 stars, bumping it up 1 more star for the excellent service and vibes as well! Started off with the trio of tiger’s milk shots. I couldn’t tell you what each of them were but they were all delicious. Perfectly acidic. I’m drooling again just writing this. Also ordered the ceviche tasting - when I tell you the octopus ceviche was INCREDIBLE! The octopus was tender and went perfectly with the creamy, herby sauce. The classic was surprisingly the weakest, and the Nikkei was great. For entrees we ordered the aji de gallina - my Ecuadorian husband said other than being slightly salty, it was a fantastic version of this classic dish. We also got the chicken chifa which was ok, basically fried rice with chicken thrown in and didn’t feel special in any way. Drinks were great and surprisingly strong! Service was super friendly and checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Great vibes all throughout and beautiful decor inside. Would definitely come back.
We had lunch at Mission Ceviche and had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The seafood ceviche was absolutely outstanding, bright, fresh, and full of flavor, and the lomo saltado and aji de gallina were equally delicious. They update the presentation of aji de gallina from time to time. This latest version, topped with crispy, finely shredded wonton skins, was especially memorable and incredibly tasty. What truly elevated the visit, though, was Scarlett. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the cuisine. She took the time to guide us through the menu and made us feel very well taken care of. We already enjoyed Mission Ceviche, but this visit, thanks in large part to Scarlett, made us appreciate it even more. Pro tip: ask for rocoto hot sauce on the side. So good!
Wonderful service and flavors. The cevice and branzino were excellent. The shrimp curry dish was a bit too rich but everything was tasty and exciting. Beautiful presentation as well. Great hospitality and friendly staff. Would just prefer less of the Palo Santo fragrance/ inscence in the dining room. While I understand its authenticity, and at times used it at home myself, it was a bit overwhelming while eating.
