Luthun easily deserves 2 Michelin Star! At a minimum they should already have 1 Star. It's insane to me that they haven't received a star or is even recognized by Michelin Guide. The food was bold, flavourful, well thought out, unique, and absolutely delicious! I very much enjoyed that Chef Nahid Ahmed and his team took us around the world through his cuisine. Luthun made my list of resturants to visit during my short trip to NY. Luthun easily ranked in my top 2 among the resturants I visited during my trip (Jungsik, Luthun, The Four Horsemen, Aquavit, YingTao).. and I think might easily ranked amongst my top 5 resturants I've visited so far. This is a repeat resturant for me, next time and everytime I'm in NY!
Hidden gem in the city. Incredible experience with the food, wine pairing, and chefs. Sat at the counter and conversed all night, sharing stories about our love of many different cuisines. Wine pairings were perfect and showed creativity in both the dish and drink. Each dish explored a different area of the world. One of the most eclectic and diverse tastings we have had here, truly international.
I’ve had many memorable meals, but my evening at Luthun was something entirely different. The intimate 9-course dinner felt like traveling the world through flavor—each dish revealing a new culture, a new story, a new surprise. The spice profiles were extraordinary: layered, vibrant, and unforgettable. Every course was elevated by exceptional wine pairings that seemed to unlock even more depth in the food. What stayed with me most was the sense of discovery. Nothing felt predictable, yet everything felt perfectly balanced. A truly unique experience—one that lingers long after the last course is served.
The restaurant was highly recommended by some friends so our expectations were unsurprisingly high. The execution was immaculate and every course was thoughtful and gorgeous. The flavors were exciting and textures were well balanced. My favorites were the fluke with ajo blanco, the Penang curry porridge and the Ora king salmon with truffle Demi. Great find and we'll definitely be back!
Tonight’s dinner at Lufen was one of those experiences that reminds you what true hospitality actually feels like. The very first thing that stood out to us was the warmth and care from the moment we walked in. The sommelier immediately greeted us, made us feel welcome, and ensured we were in incredible hands all night long. That first interaction really set the tone for the entire experience. We celebrated a birthday tonight with friends at the chef’s counter, and I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. The experience was interactive, thoughtful, and inspiring. Every member of the team was incredibly knowledgeable and excited to share the vision behind what they were creating. Hearing about the fresh ingredients, the inspiration behind each dish, and the stories that shaped the menu made the food somehow taste even better. What impressed me just as much as the food itself was the team dynamic behind it all. As a business owner and team leader myself, it was inspiring to watch how seamlessly everyone worked together, how much respect they clearly had for one another, and how deeply they cared about the customer experience. The way we felt tonight as guests is exactly how I hope my own clients feel when they work with my team. And honestly, that’s the highest compliment I can give. Thank you for such a memorable, fun, and genuinely inspiring evening. We’ll absolutely be back
