I’ve been coming here for 20 years and it never disappoints. But t tonight was extra special. Edgar took such great care of me. Food was delicious as always, but so important when you eat out to feel well taken care of. I sat outdoors and sometimes you get forgotten but not here. Edgar kept an eye on me. Perfect night!
I live a block away and already loved Jacques—but today Kevin, the general manager, absolutely knocked it out of the park. At the last minute, he somehow squeezed all six of us into an outdoor table for the World Cup. That kind of hospitality is rare, especially on a busy day. I eat here often, and the food is always excellent, but the burger with onions and cheddar needs absolutely nothing added to it. As-is, it may be the best burger in Manhattan. The staff is warm, fun, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. When you are tired of the same old pubs and bland Upper East Side spots, Jacques should be your go-to. Great food, great people, and a neighborhood place that actually feels like a neighborhood place.
Really enjoyable meal with great service. The steak frites were well prepared and flavorful, the mushroom risotto was creamy and satisfying, the hamburger was very good, and the onion soup was amazing The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. A solid spot for good food and a pleasant dining experience.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant. It’s warm, elegant, and always delicious. TJ is the best and makes you feel right at home. When guests come from out of town I always bring them here. Everyone is always dazzled! Can’t overemphasize it. Try the steak tartare
The seasonal squash soup was soothing and cozy, like a velvety hug on an autumn day. The beet salad was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. I had the pleasure of being served by Edgar. Fabulous waiter, great dude, wonderful service. I truly enjoyed my meal and experience overall. Thank you. 🙏🏽
