Catch
New York

Let me start by saying that I usually LOVE Catch. I’ve been to this location multiple times as well as Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a VIBE btw. My most recent experience here the other weekend was just… meh. Don’t get me wrong I love the food- $600 though?? Didn’t feel great about that. So I’ll break it up into Good vs Bad. Make it simple for you all. Good: 1. Food 2. Klondike 3. Love the porter house 4. Our waiter was very kind, attentive. Did a great job Bad: 1. Hostess’s. I know this is an NYC thing but it’s so cringey and annoying to check in for your table and wait 30 minutes in an empty restaurant to be sat. Like what is the point of this? I kid you not. You got there at 7 pm on a Sunday and NO ONE was there and we still had to wait. 2. Our dinner was over $600. We were shocked by the price tag. Like I said, I’ve been here multiple times. I’ve had the porter house before. I understand that prices have gone up and I completely understand that restaurant margins are thin to begin with, but $200 for a steak feels like A LOT. Idk. I just felt like I could’ve spent that money on better food and better things. will I come back? I still love this restaurant but I do feel like there are better options in this city and with the heavy price of our last dinner I’m going to wait a few years before dining here again.
The food was excellent and we had a great overall experience. I especially want to mention that our waiter was friendly, attentive, and provided great service throughout the meal. There is one area I think could be improved. Prior to our reservation, Ali texted me to confirm that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked about any dietary preferences. I mentioned that I preferred no scallions in my dish. However, when we were seated, we were asked about both of these things again, which made it seem like the information hadn’t been communicated to the staff. Additionally, since this was an anniversary celebration, I had requested a message to be written on our dessert plate. I noticed that the tables next to us received personalized writing on their desserts, while ours did not, which was a little disappointing on a special occasion. That said, the food was great and our waiter was wonderful. With a bit more attention to communication and special requests, the experience would have been perfect.
Was there for dinner while niece having 21st bd there with about 12-14 girls. It was amazing .Daniel, the manager was accommodating and attentive. The food- incredible our waitress, Aki, after only working there for 1 week is quite honestly , the best waitress I ever had. I actually hugged her on the way out. The restaurant is beautiful. Everyone who worked there that night was a pleasure. All I can say is you will be back. I know we will
Catch was an amazing restaurant and experience. We (party of 3) did not have a reservation, so we showed up at 5:30 right when it opens. They sat us down immediately! However, I would recommend getting a reservation if you cannot get to the restaurant right when it opens. The cocktails were delicious ($20 each) and came out quickly. Everything was delicious and service was great. I would recommend the crispy rice with tuna and the miso seabass. Additionally, the fries were some of the best I ever had. There was a small time delay with the crispy rice but they were quick to take care of it and take it off the bill. Great atmosphere and I left the restaurant stuffed! 10/10 recommend!
Between the food and service at CATCH NYC, I don’t know what I like better. In 2021, I went to Catch for brunch and I was unimpressed. However, over the past two years, I went for dinner and I was in absolute heaven. The times Ive went, I had Christina as my waitress. I’m not sure if you can request a particular waiter, but if you can I would consistently pick Christina. She is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. It obvious she truly cares about patrons. I’m scared to try another waiter at Catch, fearful that will not live up to the standard Christina set for me. Beyond the amazing customer service, the food at CATCH is phenomenal. While the menu changes sporadically, here are a few of my favorites: The lobster malfadine is to die for and the truffle pasta is just as tasty. My go to app is the truffle sashimi. Kudos to the mixologist at Catch…with drinks so good, there’s no way you can only get one. The one thing I would change is the visibility of the restaurant itself since it is often hard to see where to enter.
