We came for the Restaurant Week menu (three courses, $60, solid value), and it got off to a rocky start: some dishes had already run out, and the orders we did place all came out wrong. The twist: every wrong dish that landed on the table was exactly what I had been considering as my backup choice. Either the kitchen employs mind readers or we got very lucky. The food itself was good. The hanger steak came a proper medium rare over barley risotto, the sundae with black sesame, soymilk ice cream, and miso caramel closed things out well, and the dry-aging cabinets stocked with tagged short loins and tomahawks are a great touch. Service was okay. Four stars: one off for the sellouts and the scrambled orders, the rest earned by the kitchen and its accidental telepathy.
Unfortunately during restaurant week they got overwhelmed. 730pm reservation and we were seated at 750pm. We quickly ordered the prime rib. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes. We were eating at 905pm. Just some small mistakes here and there too. They only gave me one fork when you need two forks at a white linen. Two stars because they did provide two free appetizers as an apology. However our check also was incorrect. Prime rib is delicious but only go when it’s less busy or beware of the service.
Such an excellent experience. I went for lunch as soon as they opened. The prime rib for one was absolutely delicious. I was initially going to order something else but went for what they were known for. I was not disappointed. The sheer amount of food for one person was well worth the 59usd. The bread was soft and fluffy. The mashed potatoes and corn sides were made perfectly. The salad had a vinaigrette that helped cut through the richness of the prime rib. The prime rib was the star. Perfectly seasoned, large potion size and the jus paired perfectly. Personally I would've liked the horseradish sauce to have a little more bite but it was still excellent. Would highly recommend and would go back.
Went to Gui Steakhouse for lunch and had the Prime Rib for Two along with one of their lunch sets. The restaurant feels surprisingly spacious inside and has a much calmer atmosphere than I expected for Times Square. The prime rib was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, especially around the peppered edges. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing. I also enjoyed the lunch set, which made the meal feel like a great value for the quality. The brioche was soft and fluffy, and the sides were thoughtfully prepared rather than feeling like an afterthought. My favorite side was probably the corn, which had a rich, creamy texture. Finished with the apple cheesecake and left very happy with the overall experience.
May 2026: Celebrated my birthday here with a nice dinner. I had the prime rib, wagyu fried rice and brussel sprouts for dinner. The prime rib was super tender and very tasty 😋. Dry aged beef was excellent. The fried rice was okay. A little bit too wet and one dimensional in terms of flavor. Veggies were good. Overall, happy with my meal.
