Delicious and dependable! I’ve been going here for years and it’s still one of my favorite spots before or after a Broadway show. It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It’s super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion. I also love that they offer wine by the glass and the service is consistently attentive. The waiters are always moving through the room, checking tables, refilling water, and making sure people have what they need. It’s good, reliable, and near Broadway. We ate here before seeing a show and had a great experience. I got the sausage & marinara pasta and the sauce had a nice flavor profile with surprising depth. Also our food came out really quickly! The $3 mini cannoli for desert was funny but tasted great! Would recommend if you are in the area, even if it is a bit touristy.
We stopped by for a quick meal before a Broadway show and were seated promptly. The server noted our 45‑minute time limit and recommended dishes with shorter prep times. We waited only 15 minutes and made it to the theater on time. We ordered three pastas. The Fettuccine Alfredo is highly recommended. My wife loved the Farfalle Primavera — the vegetables were perfectly cooked. My daughter found the Penne Arrabbiata a bit spicier than expected (not noted on the menu).
We had a solid dinner experience with an amazing 2 story restaurant atmosphere. Scratch made authentic Italian dishes that makes you want to come back again for more. The Lasagna and Seabass over Risotto were both solid choices. I believe the Tiramisu for desert is one of the best we have ever had. Fair prices for the quality. I recommend a reservation.
Of the many things New York is popular for, it is safe to say that the city takes pride in offering, arguably, the best Italian food outside of Italy. As the birthplace of red-sauce Italian American cooking, it has plenty of top-notch options. From popular neighborhood pizza parlors to fancy fine-dining ristorantes with authentic savory wine pairings, Gotham captures the essence of Italian cuisine in every way possible. Just steps inside the Theatre District on 47th Street, this historical family-owned Italian establishment is where locals, tourists, and theatergoers gather for timeless flavors, generous portions, and exceptional hospitality, and it's where my partner, his family, and I decided on dinner before our show. The reservation was easily made a couple of days in advance via OpenTable. Upon entering Trattoria Trecolori last night, we were greeted by the staff and seated promptly inside their 2-story dining room upstairs by the window with exposed brick walls, evoking a lively without being too loud and casual vibe. Their menu has something for everyone, with classic dishes and some delicious specialties that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, with some gluten-free options. We decided on two orders of the Red Snapper special of the day, Farfalle Primavera, and Chicken Tre Funghi. For dessert, some of us opted for Mini Cannoli and Tiramisu. Complimentary fresh bread and butter started our meal. All dishes were served and prepared with care using the finest ingredients. The prices were incredibly fair considering the location. All of our servers were friendly and attentive. Our server was Sergio. We had a wonderful dining experience as Trattoria Trecolori filled our hearts and stomachs!
