Had the best solo dinner at The Shell. Such an incredible spot to sit outside when the weather is good. Not to mention, the food is absolutely incredible. Probably the best tuna tartare I’ve ever had and the chocolate lava cake was amazing. Jorge and Val were so amazing and took great care of me throughout the evening. I will be back regularly and look forward to coming for the happy hour next time.
I recently had dinner at The Shell Restaurant while celebrating my friend’s birthday, and it turned into a genuinely wonderful evening. The restaurant has a very large and generous outdoor seating area, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere on a beautiful Upper West Side night. It’s the kind of setup where you can actually settle in and enjoy the experience instead of feeling packed in shoulder-to-shoulder. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and absolutely delicious across the board. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and everything felt carefully prepared and full of flavor. What stood out just as much as the food was the staff. Everyone was friendly, pleasant, and welcoming throughout the evening, and they helped make the celebration feel special. Since it was my friend’s birthday, they brought out a complimentary dessert with a candle, and the staff all came out together for the celebration, which was a really thoughtful touch and added a lot of warmth and fun to the night. If I had to reach for small criticisms, the portions were a little modest for the price, and our table wasn’t perfectly level at first. But honestly, after a few minutes you stop noticing, especially once the food arrives. Overall, this is a terrific seafood spot with a great atmosphere, excellent hospitality, and some truly fresh seafood. A perfect place for a birthday dinner or a relaxed night out with friends.
Really great service. You can tell the staff really cares. The food was fantastic and decently priced. Cocktails were good too. They have an outside patio which will be perfect for Spring and Summer. They have happy everyday too. Highly recommended.
Food 10/10, drinks 10/10, service 10/10!!! My friend and I went on a Monday night for some drinks and apps. We got three different apps and they were all soooo good. The service was amazing, everyone working there was so so nice and welcoming!! And they kept the drinks flowing! We DEFINITELY will be back!! What a gem ❤️
After a few visits, I can really endorse this place for top quality, fresh, well prepared seafood. I’ve had the salmon and branzino, the oysters and calamari, salad, clam chowder, warm fresh bread, and vegetables. The staff is always friendly and full of advice about the menu. Ambiance is cozy and low key yet classy enough for a Saturday night out. Even their restaurant week menu is high quality and top value, in keeping with the rest of the offerings. Also have midweek paella specials! Neighborhood favorite that’s really popular for their summer outdoor cafe.
