I’m writing this while I’m still at Cervo’s. Every single dish hit the spot and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the vibes, the drinks. Highly recommended!
Think of it more as a gastro bar than a restaurant. Perfect for a date or small group. We were two. We skipped the mains, got starters and deserts. Our favorites were the clams, stuffed peppers with tuna and the shrimp. The seafood rice was so bland and watery. Generally the food was okay, nothing to rave about. Every dish couldve used more flavorful sauces or seasoning. The desserts were not good. Skip them. Great cocktails tho!
The food was pretty good but in the salty side. We started with the oysters, then had the spicy mussels, clams, and the piri piri chicken. The oysters were fresh, and the spicy mussels were yummy, but the clams left something to be desired. They didn’t have much flavour, but the sauce they were in was pretty good when soaked up with the bread. The piri piri chicken was so salty, and while the fries were good with the aoli, the flavours were just really overpowering. For dessert, we had the sponge cake, which was so overwhelmingly sherry flavoured. I personally do not really like strongly infused desserts, so it was just a little too bitter for my liking. Overall a little spenny and probably not worth it. The atmosphere is also nice for a while, but when the restaurant gets full you cannot hear anything from across the table.
Coastal Spain and Portugal inspired seafood restaurant in Chinatown. Menu is not big and dishes are for sharing. Our favorite were the prawns 🦐 The space is cute but very small so was quite loud when fully seated.
Third time dining. Was a bit disappointed with quality of food. Tortilla was served almost cold and was more of a frittata with eggs and leeks. Shrimp head was good. Calamari also came almost in salad style in winter with cold onions. Off-season temperatures with food disappointed us. Room was also very cold to dine in, we asked if heaters could be turned on but servers just said they’ll see and never turned it on. Burger was good. Fish came really buttery… almost excessively. But was fine.
