I enjoyed the savory delicious cheese Souffle that I had during my birthday lunch. The souffle takes 25 minutes from start to finish, before it makes a visit to your table. It is worthy of the wait. While waiting for my cheese souffle I chose the salmon burger. It does contain a small amount of jalapeño peppers. The peppers are blended well and produce a mild, non-spicy burger. The grilled bun enhances the overall taste and texture. The staff was very helpful and offered good suggestions for a pleasant dining experience.
Loved this place! Valentina was seriously so sweet and helpful when I was booking the reservation, and when we got there she was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We came for lunch and everything was so good. The lunch menu has great options, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The vibe is cozy and relaxed, and the service made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back. So happy I found a great neighborhood spot! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere:
Service was nice so I’ll give 5 stars… but there are way too many fruit flies at the bar. I know it’s hot out, but you got to treat those drains behind that bar and really clean it every night. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but there were at least 10 flies living their best life by the aperol. I would have gotten some cheese and charcuterie with my wine, but eating there would have definitely been a battle of swatting flies between bites.
Post-hotel happy hour and feeling a bit hungry, I made my way down to Cognac Brasserie for what turned out to be one of the absolute best meals I had during my entire New York takeover. Right from the jump, the vibe check was immaculate. The staff here is the definition of hospitable and professional, providing top-tier service that makes you feel like the most important person in the room while they deliver elite-level food to your table. They got me started with a French 75 and an order of calamari, and honestly, I found myself slowing down because I never wanted to reach the bottom of either. They were both so delicious I considered asking for a second round of both just to keep the dream alive. For the main event, I went with the Steak Frites, which was so incredible I’ve literally dreamed about it multiple times since leaving. It’s the kind of meal that haunts you in the best way possible. Cognac Brasserie is the ultimate sensory sanctuary, whether you’re taking yourself on a high-end solo date, looking for a romantic rendezvous point, or need a gorgeous spot to meet up with the crew to hash out the latest life, work or boy drama. Between the hospitality and that steak, I was ready to move in. 8/10 would definitely "Steak" my claim on a table here again.
