Went with a party of 4 and the night did not disappoint! Food: for appetizers we had the tuna tartare brioche toast, octopus and artichokes. The toast was larger than expected and so good! As mains I had the dover sole which was served with a flavored butter sauce and mushrooms. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned and had us scraping our plates clean! Desserts were also great with a special shoutout to their baked alaska which has a fun table side presentation. service: the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us all great recommendations! Excellent seafood restaurant from the team behind Lure Fishbar in SoHo. The dining room is beautiful and spacious, and a generous size front bar. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, we were greeted by everyone. Drinks were fantastic, great wine options and of course martinis. The food menu has many options and reasonable prices for the area, if you want several starters, opt for the seafood tower, a bit of everything and beautifully presented. For our mains, we had the spicy lobster cavatelli and NY strip, both were delicious and generous portions. Please save room for dessert, all cakes are freshly baked in house (nut free). The carrot cake and strawberry shortcake were excellent. Edit - Visit 6-months later (lowered from 5 to 4 stars). The food is still excellent, but the overall experience was disappointing... Matter-of-fact service, long waits between ordering, over 20 minutes to get our first round of cocktails, 15 minutes to bring the check. Clearly a busy restaurant, but something was off with staffing / organization. Given the number of excellent restaurants nearby, I doubt I will return to Seahorse anytime soon, except maybe a drink at the bar during off hours.
We loved it! Booked an early res on Friday evening. Sat in a spacious yet cozy booth. Well appointed space with a variety of romantic tables as well as booths flanking the borders of this thoughtfully designed space. Beautiful cocktail bar when you walk in- not a bad place to arrive early and have a cocktail- and a raw Bar in the center of the dining room. Jake our server was fantastic, making excellent recommendations, being knowledgeable about the offerings- we felt very well looked after and not rushed even as it was starting to full up substantially. Can’t wait to come back and bring friends. We got a selection of tuna tartare with caviar on brioche as well as a tuna crudo in soy and avocado- also the ricotta w radicchio. We just didn’t have the discipline to take photos of those before they were gone. Delicious. I had the squash and pine nut pasta, which was delightful but perhaps a bit on the sweeter side to have as a main dish- I wasn’t hungry enough for a plat principaux but my husband had the Amish chicken in veloute and loved it! The carrot cake was layered w cream cheese frosting and had a cinnamon forward palate. We really had a lovely time and will be back ! Thank you !
Seahorse is such a good spot. The food is good, the drinks are solid, and everything feels thoughtfully done. I love the interior warm lighting, beautiful design, and just a great atmosphere overall. It feels stylish but still comfortable and easy to enjoy. Definitely check out the bar upstairs too, it adds to the whole experience.
I like the food in general. Fresh and light fish cooked in an elegant way. I have enjoyed soo much toast with lobster, salad and salmon. Even the dessert was good. Wine list quite good but too expensive. The service and the location was excellent. Try it!
