TL;DR: Grab a table outside, enjoy a glass of wine with a plate of pasta, and do some people-watching. This is an amazing spot to wind down the evening! Food: I have had the orecchiette (brunch) and the lasagne (dinner). I have also tried the chicken milanese panini. The food really is quite spectacular here: I love that you can really taste how high quality and textured the pasta is. For seemingly simple dishes, they do an amazing job at the flavor. They have good wine selection as well with some affordable options. There is also a happy hour as well to look out for! Service: The waiters here are quite friendly and very attentive. They regularly ask if you need anything, and they’ll come do water refills as needed. No complaints at all. Ambiance: Located on a street with a good amount of foot traffic but is not that loud. It’s very comfortable outside, and they have seating indoors as well (although I exclusively choose to sit outdoors here). There is a clean restroom downstairs as well.
Amazing dining experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We tried a few dishes from the menu, and everything tasted authentic with generous portions. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Definitely a place worth visiting if you're looking for quality Italian food. Highly recommended!
Tried a Delivery tonight but despite being relatively close to my house (only a few blocks away) and having ordered the meat cooked “Rare” and an appetizer of 3 cold cuts (that’s why I know the order didn’t take long in the making) the food arrived at my house after almost 1 hour! So I don’t recommend delivery. I’ve had a steak that wasn’t bad but definitely not “rare” and lacking salt and it came with a side of what I first believed was arugula but it was something green right out of the bag and inedible because it only tasted like plastic! Now for the 3 cold cuts, I’ve had the sopressata (which I remember being spicy and this was not, so to me it was salami), Prosciutto Di Parma (which arrived sweating, like partially cooked because it was put above the fries container) that didn’t taste like how I remembered, good, but not Parma in my opinion (and I am Italian, born and raised) and the Speck was just as good but not the high quality I’m used to (like Senfter Süd Tirol). Overall the food is pretty good and the quality is similar to Italian excellence, but not quite like it. Oh, the rider also gave me a pizza with mushrooms and pancetta that wasn’t mine but when I called him back he didn’t pick up the phone! One free pizza you’d say, too bad I don’t eat mushrooms! I’m sure this restaurant is not bad at all but with NYC competition every detail counts!
Even though I know the neighborhood, I was delighted to recently discover Osteria Cotta when I was on an extended trip to NY. It was one of the highlights of my trip! It is the quintessential UWS neighborhood Italian restaurant. The menu has a very appealing menu, with options from “Small Bites” to full entrees. The woodburning oven is great feature, not only in terms of cooking but in terms of ambience. The bar is very welcoming and offers the optionality of dining there as well as at rustic tables.
Very accommodating to hard of hearing guests in our party and server Anna was hospitable and kind! We ordered pizza and pasta and all were fantastic. A cannot miss spot!
