I had a FANTASTIC lunch at Little Owl yesterday. They have an all you can eat Seafood Boil on Tuesdays through the summer and I decided to make a solo reservation as a treat to myself. It exceeded my expectation. First, I didn't realize that it was a multi-course meal. I chose the corn chowder with lobster, amazing, and while I don't want to get too full on bread, the roll with roasted garlic butter was delicious. Secondly, it was 2-for-1 cocktails and wine before 5 pm! Then the main event, the seafood boil itself, was MASSIVE as you can see from the photo. I don't know if it was an entire lobster's worth of meat but it certainly felt like it. There were two steamed crabs, a ton of mussels and clams. The quality was excellent. I was in heaven. I wish I could have eaten more but I was stuffed. I had the peach crumble for dessert, a delicious way to end the meal. I can't remember my server's name but she was lovely, knowledgeable, hospitable. The seafood boil is in the chef's space, next door to the original space. It's a lovely atmosphere to enjoy a meal in. I highly recommend the Seafood Boil since it's a limited run for the summer! If you like seafood, you have to try this!
The definition of a neighborhood gem. The menu and cooking is a sort of early 2000s relic (Italian-ish new American cooking) and that's a great thing. The bacon cheeseburger is legendary.
We absolutely loved this little gem. The sea bass and branzino were amazing. Definitely order the beignets… The staff was very friendly and we had a great time talking with the guests seated next to us. Can’t wait until next time!
Dani was an absolute legend and the owners should be happy to have her. It made the entire meal and atmosphere Devine. Great Easter 🐣 Brunch. It was what NYC food is all about. From the moment we got there to the moment we left it was just a delicious time.
Skip the line at the other brunch place around the corner, and come to this place instead! We came on an early Monday morning just after they opened. Love the cozy interiors and friendly and attentive staff. Food and drinks were served within ten minutes of being seated. Highly recommend the poached eggs (delicious pork patty!), smoked salmon toast and the beignets. I'll definitely take some of my friends to eat at this place when they come into the city.
