It’s a nice day out so I got a Shrimp & Grain bowl here so I could go eat it by the water. Omg. So good. So flavorful. The shrimp was really light and good and it was very filling / nutritious. They also have a half size option which is good if you’re not as hungry. Will definitely come back.

I had one of those sudden, unstoppable cravings and after seeing their sky-high Google ratings, I hopped in an Uber to see whether it was worth the hype — and yes, it is. The space is small, cozy, and full of that marine-themed, East Coast charm. Clean wood, relaxed vibes, and a casual boat-shack feel that makes it perfect for a laid-back dinner. Nothing flashy, nothing over the top — just inviting and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, and I already knew exactly what I came for: the Lobster Roll Flight Combo. Three different styles of lobster roll, Cape Cod chips, and a drink. They suggested the Main Root blueberry soda, which turned out to be lightly sweet, slightly citrusy, and honestly the perfect, refreshing match for the meal. The lobster is sourced straight from Portland Pier, Maine, and I’ll be honest — this place isn’t cheap. But the quality speaks for itself. Every roll was packed with thick, juicy chunks of lobster tucked into a buttery, toasted bun. I ordered mine cold, and even then it was unbelievably flavourful and satisfying. Each style in the flight had its own standout taste, and I genuinely loved all three. If I had to nit-pick, I would say a couple of lemon or lime wedges on the side would elevate the experience even more. And maybe some disposable gloves would help keep things a bit less messy — but honestly, that’s part of the charm of eating a proper lobster roll anyway. I was really impressed with the service here! There was only one person working the counter, taking orders, and even cooking the food — and somehow she handled everything quickly, efficiently, and with a great attitude. You could tell she cared about every customer, keeping things moving while still making sure everyone got exactly what they ordered. The food came out fresh and delicious, it just needed a bit more seasoning. The wait time was surprisingly short given it was just one person doing it all. Major props to them for their hard work and professionalism — they definitely deserve some recognition! If you stop by, be patient and kind — this person is doing the work of three people and absolutely crushing it.
Classic, well-balanced lobster roll with great sides — a pickle, Cape Cod chips, and a choice of drink (the real-ginger ginger ale is excellent). The lobster was tender and fresh, though a bit softer and milder in flavor than rolls found in Maine or Nantucket. Still, a satisfying, thoughtfully composed meal in a welcoming West Village spot.
