This is one of those restaurants I would have only dreamed of being able to go to not too long ago. Always thought with its location and Michelin stars it was too fancy for me, but decided to give it a try before hitting a Broadway show at the Hudson Theater. While we didn’t have enough time to do one of the tasting menus for the full experience, we were able to nibble on a few amazing bites and grab drinks. Service and ambiance at the bar/lounge area were impeccable. Will definitely have to come back for the full experience!
We have long considered the service here to be a masterfully conducted symphony, with every detail attended to with a precision that borders on art, all paired with cuisine that consistently sets the standard for fine dining in the city. Yet, during yesterday's visit, we noticed a distinct, beautiful shift in the room. The impeccable, world-class standard we always crave remained entirely intact, but the staff carried a different aura—one filled with renewed warmth and an effortless, vibrant energy. We quickly realized the catalyst for this wonderful evolution is the new manager, Carlos. He was an absolute delight, taking the time to chat with each table in a way that felt genuinely welcoming. It was equally wonderful to witness his interaction with his crew; his leadership radiates a positive, uplifting energy that clearly inspires the entire team. Kudos to the whole team at Gabriel Kreuther—that third star is surely on the horizon, and we remain as loyal as ever.
One of our favorite places to dine in NYC. The ambience is warm and inviting and sets the perfect tone from the moment you walk in. The staff is incredible—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish feels is offers bold new flavors. From the exceptional food to the outstanding service, this is a place we find ourselves returning to again and again. Highly recommended.
Outstanding evening at Gabriel Kreuther. Last night, my wife and I dined at Gabriel Kreuther, and it’s one of those rare restaurants where—while you’re still seated, mid-course—you find yourself planning your return. (We actually said, “We have to bring the kids here.”) We chose the tasting menu, and from the very first course, it was clear how much thought and intention went into each dish. Every plate was a success—beautifully composed, flavorful, and creative. Each course flowed naturally into the next, making the tasting feel cohesive rather than just a collection of highlights. The beverage pairings were equally well executed. Each drink was thoughtfully selected to elevate the dish it accompanied, adding nuance and balance without stealing the spotlight. Together, the food and pairings felt precise, measured, and complete. Service is where the evening truly stood out. At this level, hospitality must be a seamless team effort, guided by calm leadership and real awareness of the room. Angie, our captain for the evening, embodied that role perfectly—warm, attentive, and always a step ahead. Zanetta, one of the managers, worked tirelessly throughout the night to ensure every detail was handled with care. Mission accomplished. The dining room itself deserves praise. The interior design, lighting, and seating are all beautifully considered, and the view into the open kitchen adds an extra layer of energy to the experience. The large, inviting bar is a destination on its own—we arrived early and enjoyed a drink there before being seated, and it set the tone for the evening perfectly. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.
The incredible staff deserve a third star for the incredible evening they curated seamlessly for my wife & I. As hospitality professionals ourselves, we always love to see team operate on a different level & this group is a well run machine with invisible systems, unreasonable hospitality & the perfect level of comfortable mixed with professional. I've had, in my lifetime, maybe 4 "memorable meals" & this is one more. It's a shame we live 2 hours away up north, however we will be using our experience as a benchmark of excellence to strive for when we train our own team back home at Lone Wolf in Kingston, NY. Hats off to the entire FOH & BOH teams. I hope management read this aloud & shares with you why your role matters.
