Description

Begin your journey at Battery Park, where you’ll step into the layered history of the harbor. Board the ferry with thousands of others before you—immigrants, dreamers, protestors, and everyday Americans. On Liberty Island, take in breathtaking views of Lady Liberty and visit the new Statue of Liberty Museum. Continue to Ellis Island to explore the National Museum of Immigration, where over 12 million people once took their first steps toward becoming American. Along your journey, enjoy an original audio guide that leads you through five engaging segments: preparing to board at Battery Park, crossing the harbor on the ferry to Liberty Island, exploring the grounds of Liberty Island, traveling to and walking through Ellis Island, and reflecting on your experience during the return ferry ride. In addition to the main tour, unlock 10 bonus story tracks that dive deeper into the history and cultural impact of these landmarks. Highlights include the story of Emma Lazarus and her famous poem “The New Colossus,” the untold contributions of the builders of Liberty, magician David Copperfield’s daring vanishing act, the 2018 immigrant justice protest, and the ways Lady Liberty has been reimagined in pop culture. More than a simple narration, this guide blends historical storytelling, reflection, soundscapes, and voices across generations to bring new meaning to a monument we thought we knew.
