⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) I had dinner at The View while visiting New York City, and it’s definitely worth experiencing at least once. Located right in Times Square, it’s incredibly convenient for tourists, and I was told by several people that it was a must-try restaurant. I booked a sunset dinner, which turned out to be the perfect time. I got to enjoy both the daytime and nighttime views as the restaurant slowly rotates 360 degrees around the city. The rotation is so smooth that you don’t even realize you’re moving, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. Adding to the experience was a live pianist, which made dinner feel even more elegant. The food was excellent. I had the chicken with mashed potatoes, a Caesar salad, and an espresso martini, and everything was delicious. The service was outstanding as well. I wish I could remember my waiter’s name because he truly made the experience even better. The pricing was moderate, especially considering it’s a fine dining restaurant in the heart of Times Square. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is because I expected the views to be a little more impressive. I understand the restaurant is working with its location, but many of the immediate views included satellite dishes, building fixtures, and utility poles. To really appreciate the skyline, you had to look past those obstacles. Coming from the Chicago area, I may be a little spoiled by our unobstructed skyline and panoramic city views, so my expectations were probably higher. Overall, I had a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely go back. Great food, exceptional service, beautiful ambiance, and a unique dining experience that’s well worth trying while you’re in New York City.
My friend and I had a great dinner here. We ordered the lamb chops, French fries, and wine. The lamb chops were delicious, and we really enjoyed the wine and the atmosphere. The service was great as well, and our waiter, I believe his name was Luis, was very attentive and friendly. The only disappointment was the French fries. They were mostly small broken pieces and very greasy. Considering the level and prices of the restaurant, we expected much better quality. Other than that, we had a great experience and enjoyed our evening.
The View at the Marriott Marquis was a fantastic night out. Food was genuinely great, the service was on point, and the wine list had way more good options than I expected. The rotating floor is a blast—you get a full lap of the Manhattan skyline over the course of dinner without leaving your seat. Touristy in the best way. Would absolutely go back.
The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere. The live classical music was excellent, soft, relaxing, and perfect for a romantic evening. The food was 10/10; every bite was delicious, and the drinks were amazing as well. The service was outstanding, the staff was attentive the entire time. The view of the city is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend it for an anniversary date.
Everything was perfect tonight! We arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time but we were seated at the window table right away. The view was great. When we were seated, we got to see the beautiful sunset and during the dinner, we were treated by the night skyscrapers. We ordered the roasted baby beets, grilled swordfish, roasted half chicken and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. Our server, Yacouba, was very courteous, friendly and helpful. We felt very lucky to have him as our server. We’ll definitely come back every time we’re in NYC.
