Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Came in for a late night drink so we didn’t get food but someone nearby got a chicken sandwich and fries and it looked delish. Blonde hair bartender took care of us for the night and was the sweetest person ever (did not get his name but huge shoutout to him!). Will DEFINITELY be back solely because of his energy.
Always a hit for us when we come here. This time went with my 2 kids (21 & 16- if you go before 9PM anyone under 21 can go) for dinner. We got the chicken, nachos & fish tacos to eat. Everything was delicious!! The service was great, the atmosphere was a vibe. They had one of the Muppet movies playing on the tv.
Old school tiki bar with delicious chicken, sandwiches, fro2s and biscuits. We choose to head to NYC when the heat index was 111°F. The bar was medium in temp but a break from outside. It was pretty loud. But it is a holiday weekend crossed with World Cup visitors. The staff was very attentive and fast considering they are making tons of blended drinks. The food came out quick. The chicken sandwiches are as good as any where. Fries are well seasoned and crispy. Definitely a dive bar with a tiki feel.
Solid fried chicken sandwich in a classic dive bar. I haven’t actually been in many dive bars, but when you walk into this place, it’s almost pitch black and you can’t see anything. The atmosphere is a little bit grungy, and you have to read some signs to figure out that you need to order out the counter. When we went on a Saturday for lunch, there was no one behind the counter and it turns out the worker was someone who I actually thought was dining at the restaurants since they were eating their hashbrowns next to everyone else. The chicken sandwich is enormous and takes up much more than the surface area of a single bun, but I liked it a lot, especially when you add the different sauces and mayo they provide. Would come back and try some other stuff too. Very cute back patio.
Relaxed atmosphere of a dive bar with killer food. First note: they have the worst Diet Coke I have ever had in my entire life. Completely flat and tastes like it came out of a dirty gun. HOWEVER every time I come here I get the chicken platter, Mac and cheese, and a tuna melt. The chicken is succulent with a beautiful breading and is piping hot every time. It is served with a sweet honey butter that goes beautifully with the biscuits as well. The biscuits are good but not mind blowing, they are small and served 3 per order. The Mac and cheese can be dry depending on the batch but this most recent visit was perfectly creamy but still firm enough to slice. It is a baked style. The tuna melt is one of my favorites in the city. It has a massive amount of tuna inside but feels lighter than others I have had. It almost takes like the tuna is whipped. I can’t figure out what they do to the tuna but it’s great. The best part about this place is that the kitchen is open late. We actually came this time because the restaurant we were trying to go to had closed their kitchen early. It’s really great having this option in the area.
