Stellar service, very nice staff! Unfortunately the food was flavor overkill. I ordered heirloom tomatoes + watermelon. Perfect summer foods. But the dish was drowning in some weird jam, and mint, and herbed croutons. Too much. Same with the brownie dessert. There was a brownie with chocolate sauce with some kind of crumble and some salted cream thing over it AND ice cream. Both dishes had potential but could really have used some editing. Also, it was absolutely freezing in there. It was 75 degrees outside or so but maybe 60 inside. Unnecessary! The place looks nice :) and as earlier stated, staff couldn't be nicer.
We knew it when we walked in the door! The smell of spices hit us first and we knew it would be an enjoyable dinner. Our server (Carla?) bought just the right amount of humor and whit to the table and made excellent recommendations. We order one of just about everything and everything was excellent. We thought the P.E.I. Mussels might have been the weakest dish - not the most tasty broth and the mussels themselves just didn't taste fresh. On the other end of the spectrum, the Rainbow Carrots were to die for - an amazing Smokey dish. The Braised Pork Pasta and the Burrata were also notably tasty as was the Gnocchi with oyster mushrooms. An accidental splash of water into my wife's lap lead to a complimentary strawberry-rhubarb crumble dessert that we shared and devoured. We'll go back again for sure!
Otis has truly become our signature restaurant. We’ve celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, and so many special date nights there, and every experience has been amazing. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the food is always incredible, and the service makes you feel so welcomed every single time. It’s one of those places that feels special no matter the occasion, and it has become such a meaningful spot for us over the years. We always leave happy, full, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
What a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with great attention to detail. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into every plate. What made the evening truly special, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the level of hospitality matches the quality of the food, but Otis does exactly that. The team made us feel at home from the moment we walked in, and their friendliness and professionalism elevated the entire experience. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed dinner. Between the exceptional food, the thoughtful service, and the wonderful people behind it all, this was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Brooklyn. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Otis to anyone looking for an outstanding meal and truly genuine hospitality.
Food and atmosphere were amazing! Gem lettice salad and scallop risotto were my favorite. P.S. I come here often and always wonder why this place isn’t listed under the Michelin Bib Gourmand. My guess is that the food takes quite a while to come out between each dish, which might be the reason. Other than that, I’m always satisfied with the meal.
