What a great night...the El Debarge was my teenage dream come true🥰 ....Drinks were great, be prepared to pay but had plenty of alcohol, not watered down...thr atmosphere was lit and the crowd was super fun! Mature crowd, friendly and there for a great time, great staff...I'll be back Inkwell NY!!
I attended this club/venue for the first time ever to see El Debarge live. Watching the videos on this place prior to this night on YouTube didn't do this place justice at all. I arrived at 5pm but the doors didn't open until 6pm. That didn't pose an issue to me. Security at the front door was super nice and allowed us to wait in the lobby so we wouldn't have to be so hot outside with the warm weather. The lady who checked my bag was super friendly and asked if she can check me. I happily obliged. We took the elevator up to the top floor. When the elevator stopped at the floor, I was greeted by a gentleman who was happy to show me to my VIP section. I really wish I selected to reserve my booth up front but now I know for next time. Every single staff member that I encountered from the security, wait staff, bartenders and anyone just working there and passing me would just smile. The bathroom attendants were friendly too! It was fantastic! The bathrooms were sooo clean. They remained clean all night which was a huge plus in my book. Each bathroom has its own private stall. Another plus! The faucet was a "waterfall" faucet. Loved it! The DJ prior to showtime was fabulous. All music was played from disco to the very best of R&B. Funkmaster Flex was a guest DJ and if you know him...you know he plays great music! My VIP booth was perfect. The drinks were tasty. Note: When you're buying drinks, tips are already included. Just sign your name on the receipt and have fun! The wings were super spicy but that was okay with me. The fries were yummy! This place has a retractable roof but it didn't open the night I attended. The dance floor had a huge disco ball. Patrons were nice and mature. Just my style. The vibe was friendly and energetic. DeBarge came out and the women went crazy and that was to be expected. I think I only sat down for his performance cause my feet were hurting from dancing non stop prior to showtime. This place is great for private parties or even just to get together with your friends and enjoy the music you love. There was a spectacular view of The Hudson River especially at night. It's perfectly located across the street from The Intrepid Museum. There is a massive parking lot across the street so if you're driving, don't stress. Book that parking spot. You can also take the E train to 50th street and hop in a cab crosstown. There's a coat check but I didn't need that. This was an amazing night and I can't wait to return with my close friends for another unforgettable night of amazing music and dancing!
There are not enough great things I can say about this venue & the staff. I booked my daughter's 30th birthday celebration there just a few days before & my expectations were OVEREXCEEDED from the staff, to the setup & also putting her name & pic on the screen which rotated all night. She was so incredibly happy & the staff made her feel extra special. KEVIN (the person you will book thru) is amazing, attentive & assuring......he even checked in the day after the event to see how things went for us. I've celebrated my birthday at many venues In New York & I can't honestly say none of them came this close to providing an all around great time from beginning to end. The food is delicious & cupcakes are delicious & the 2 for 1 drinks are a definite hit, the bartenders are top notch! The DJ kept everyone on their feet with a great mixture of classic oldies to current hits & our server was so kind to us. I know "Affordable" is subjective, but I've paid a lot more & gotten a lot less with bad service. Needless to say, all of my future celebrations will be held here......BOOK YOUR PARTIES HERE! you will not be disappointed.
It wasn't so crowded, but it was a good atmosphere. The lady security guard upstairs on the floor very bad attitude. The worst and very disrespectful. Asking me if I have the money or need money to check my coat. Lucky I was there for a 60th birthday. I would've left.
