Been on my want-to-go list for years and Dive Bar exceeded all expectations. Especially loved chatting with our bartender, Jesse. ♥️
I was in Manhattan this past weekend for a few nights staying on the upper west side. I asked the concierge at my hotel where good place to go and watch the World Cup would be. He did not hesitate it and suggested the dive bar. I got there and found a seat at the bar and proceeded to order an IPA and had the catfish Banh mi with a side of coleslaw. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. There were three friendly people working around the bar. I returned the next night to watch some more of the World Cup with my home team from Canada playing. When I walked in the two people behind the bar recognized me right away and what I was most impressed about was that Alex who didn't even serve me last night, remembered I preferred an IPA to drink. During halftime I ordered some poutine, what other things should you order when you're Canadian? Poutine was excellent made with cheese curd as it should be instead of shredded mozzarella cheese like you see in some places. I finished off my meal with another beer and proceeded to watch Canada win 1-0. So after seeing a concert at the Lincoln center last night what better thing to do but return to the dive bar and have some more food and watch the final World Cup game for the evening. When I walked in none of the same people were working but I received the same excellent service. This time I had another IPA and to eat I had the Cuban sandwich again with a side of coleslaw. I cannot recommend this place enough. I return to New York quite often and will certainly go back to the dive bar again.
Spiked hot chocolate 3/5⭐️ honestly just tasted like regular hot chocolate packets Earl grey martini 2/5⭐️ tasted like very sour grapefruit lemonade… I was very confused If you get drinks, come during happy hour. I don’t think they’re worth it full price. You can bring outside food in and just order drinks! They also have a Photo Booth for $7.
