Have been there twice already. Delicious food; great menu. Wonderful staff. Seafood quality is ace. Joyful energy. A fun date place or with a group.
If you’re looking for a seafood spot in NYC that actually delivers on every level, The Clam needs to be on your list. We started with the seafood tower — incredibly fresh oysters, shrimp, and lobster claws, beautifully presented over ice. The pea risotto with seared scallop was one of the best dishes of the night, perfectly balanced and rich without being heavy. We also tried the grilled gem salad and a mixed greens salad, both light and well-dressed, and the chicken parm, which had a great crisp-to-cheese ratio and was bigger than expected. For drinks, the Pride cocktail was a standout (refreshing, well-balanced, and proceeds go to a great cause), and the Clam Bianco, their house white, paired perfectly with everything we ordered. We finished with two desserts: an apple pastry with caramel and a berry crumble with vanilla ice cream, both excellent ways to end the meal. The space itself has a great mix of cozy charm (exposed brick, warm lighting) with a beautiful outdoor patio for nicer days. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell the team genuinely cares about the food and the experience. Highly recommend for a date night, group dinner, or just a great excuse to eat really good seafood. Already planning my next visit.
Excellent stop for lunch, with pleasant outdoor seating on a relatively quiet street. We stopped here for lunch two days in a row, after enjoying it so much the first time. Friendly service, quality ingredients and well-selected wine options. The oysters, from three different locations (both coasts), were flavorful and meaty. The burrata is fantastic. Other highlights were the halibut and salmon, both excellent, as well as the flavorful berry cobbler. Friendly and welcoming service; unfortunately I don't remember our server's name from the first day, but Julio on day 2 was attentive and generous! A great spot for a nice lunch, and will worth it. Will be back!
The Clam is a low-key West Village spot that just gets it right—fresh seafood, simple menu, and no overthinking it. The outdoor seating is the move, small and relaxed with that classic NYC sidewalk vibe, especially on a nice day. Not a big scene, just consistently good food and an easy place to go back to.
