From our first meeting with Joe at Giando on the Water, we felt that we were in the best possible hands for our wedding day. The day of, a thunderstorm had rolled in and the ceremony location had to move indoors, but it turned out as or more beautiful than the original plan. It was clear that the managers and staff were not only skilled and experienced, but also adaptable to unexpected changes. Liz and her wonderful staff made sure everything ran smoothly during the wedding while simultaneously making our families and the guests feel warmly welcomed. A staff member always remained near the family, in case someone had a question or needed something. The views were spectacular and numerous guests told us how much they enjoyed the venue. And the food was excellent throughout the evening. Thank you, Giando on the Water, and special thanks to Joe and Liz. We will always remember this day and your part in it!
My wife and I and my family attended a wedding on a Saturday night in June and it was marvelous. The place must have been blessed because the clouds parted and we had the most magnificent views of Williamsburg Bridge and Brooklyn. Starting on the Terrace was magnificent, the indoor cocktail hour had interesting flavors and stations. The ballroom had a large dance floor and the views all night were Magical. The choices included, steak which was bountiful, the chicken was francese and a very delicious salmon. As the evening continued, the views became more endearing. We found Joe to be wonderful with any questions and follow up. Just need more relatives to get married ;-)
I’m really disappointed with the service we experienced. Throughout the night, it often felt like we were inconveniencing the staff rather than being welcomed guests. The overall service was lacking as the evening went on. It became noticeably slower, and less attentive. At one point, a waiter explicitly told me he couldn’t help me at all or do anything, yet later was able to take drink orders. Another staff member was carelessly tossing forks onto the table while resetting it between courses, which came across as unprofessional. We also felt uncomfortable when a server implied we shouldn’t order more drinks—even though we were there celebrating a wedding at an open bar. Drinks were consistently delayed and never arrived even after ordering multiple times with different staff members. For such a special occasion, there should be a higher standard of service—one that makes guests feel valued, excited, and taken care of. The food itself was enjoyable. The pasta at the start was phenomenal, and the preselected entrees were well-prepared (the steak stood out as the best option). Unfortunately they were unable to accommodate us on the different temperatures. Several people got theirs well done even though we asked for medium rare. We appreciated that the staff readily provided more bread upon request. The coffee was fresh with a great aroma, and the complimentary ice cream was a nice finishing touch.
I had the best wedding experience on June 7th, 2025 with Giando on the Water. The view is definitely the showstopper, providing truly amazing pictures. From the pre-meetings with Joe and Liz in person and on the phone, to the most attentive wait staff and bar servers, we couldn’t have asked for better. They are truly experts at what they do, always there providing the guidance, organization and the personal touches that exceeded the vision we had for the day. We used their recommended vendors after looking around a bit and it was beyond clear that they knew the layout and acoustics of the building to best optimize our expectations while working flawlessly with the Giando staff. Both my husband and I as well as our parents had appointed people watching out for us all night long. Despite the unpredictable weather, they had a contingency plan in place, and worked with us to make a game time decision as to where the ceremony was happening, inside or out. The food and drink from cocktail hour through dessert were plentiful and of the highest quality with amazingly quick service both at the tables and more importantly at the bar where there was never a long wait. With all of the difficult decisions to be made for getting that single perfect day, the hindsight of choosing this venue was the best one. We highly recommend having your wedding at Giando’s!
We had a beautiful fall wedding at Giando on the Water! From the beginning, Joe and his staff were attentive and communicative in helping us plan our big day. Liz and her team did an incredible job prepping the space for us and our vendors ahead of our arrival. The view from their outdoor ceremony space is unmatched, and while the banquet hall is already a beautiful space with an incredible view, nothing could have prepared us for the look of it at nighttime, filled with our florals, candles, and loved ones. The food was delicious and never seemed to stop coming (in the best way), and all of the cocktails were excellent. The bartenders, waitstaff, and bridal attendants were all outstanding. Our guests have not stopped telling us about how much they loved the venue, the view, and the service of the staff. We felt so lucky to find this hidden in plain sight gem of a venue, and would strongly recommend it to any couples who are considering. Professional photography: Jess Spoll
