A hidden gem! The bar looks shabby inside and outside, but it has the best dishes from Mama!
This is DEFINITELY a hidden gem! You wouldn’t know this place was here. But you should know because… AMAZING! the food, the vibes, the service… all AMAZING! We were absolutely impressed by how kind and attentive the employees were! As someone who uses a wheelchair… they were extremely accommodating! And helpful! A plus are the Jameson shots being passed out! This is definitely on our list to recommend to others! You won’t be disappointed!
Fish Market on South Street feels like a hidden speakeasy you’re lucky to stumble into, intimate, energetic, and full of personality. The space has that unpolished charm that makes you want to stay; sports on the screens, a lively crowd, and a sense that everyone somehow knows each other. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly why it works. What truly makes it special are the people. Jeff (the bar owner) and John are incredible; genuine, welcoming, and effortlessly create that feeling of being taken care of. And then there’s the food. The chef is Malaysian (mom recipe), and you can taste that depth immediately. Rich, layered flavors with a comforting, almost home cooked quality. The wings are addictive, and even a simple dish feels thoughtfully done. It’s not polished, it’s not formal 😁 and that’s exactly the magic. A true neighborhood gem with soul.
I was in town on business and met a friend for an easy bite to eat. This is a gem in the FiDi area. No frills just show up and enjoy the food, a drink and chat with a friend. Service was casual. Our food came out hot and quick.
