Bufon proved to be a wonderfully welcome culinary surprise. The atmosphere is warm, intimate and charming while the service is receptive and courteous without being overbearing. The culinary offerings, as any excellent restaurant should have, are the star of the show however. The menu is spectacular, with several bold choices that reaffirm their confidence in their decisions where many other restaurants would play it safer. I have to mention the clams, which I believe are among the best I’ve had across four continents. The green beans are also phenomenal, and the beef cheek bourguignon is tender with a perfectly executed sauce. Looking forward to my next visit

Excellent meal last night at Bufon. The ambiance was great — somehow classy AND vibey at the same time. Service was lovely; we sat at the bar and the bartender couldn’t have been friendlier (a rarity in the LES). Now let’s talk about the food! Every dish was a hit, but standouts were the clams dressed in a SE Asian vinaigrette, duck breast with dates and radicchio, the confit potatoes, and a passion fruit tart. Also loved the strawberry highball and the Genepy digestif the bartender suggested to go with dessert. Will definitely be coming back for my next special occasion meal 👌

One of the better dining experiences we’ve had in NYC. All around great experience, with phenomenal drinks and fantastic food. I would recommend getting the duck. The drinks were all fantastic. They had a decent natural wine selection. I would recommend getting a reservation in advance.

Everything was delicious. The clams, bread and butter, and spaghetti were amazing. My friend and I had a sprawling dinner here on a Tuesday and it was the perfect vibe. 10/10 recommend.

Would highly recommend. Portions are generous for the price point and above average for this type of food. The fluke crudo is a great starter, fresh and vibrant with a nice mix of textures. For mains, the duck and red snapper are both excellent but the duck is the move. The dates add an incredible depth of flavor. Don’t sleep on it. Service was great too — our waitress checked in on food allergies upfront which I always appreciate, and there’s coat check which is a nice touch.
