We visited Bamonte’s specifically for the famous veal chop, only to find out they had sold out by the time we arrived. That was disappointing since it was the main reason for our trip, but we decided to stay and try several other dishes. We ordered the baked clams, raw clams, veal marsala, lamb chops, carbonara, filet of sole, eggplant parmesan, and finished with cappuccino. The baked clams and raw clams were fresh, portions were generous, and the dishes were well prepared. The veal marsala was enjoyable, the lamb chops were cooked nicely, and the carbonara and filet of sole were both solid choices. While we were disappointed not to experience the veal chop that Bamonte’s is known for, we still had a pleasant meal and good service in a classic old-school Brooklyn atmosphere. We’ll likely return another time and hopefully get the chance to try the dish that brought us there in the first place.

Dinner at old-school, red sauce joint, Bamonte in Williamsburg, one of the oldest restaurants in Brooklyn. We are so glad we went early; this place is a scene! When we left at 9, there was not an empty table or seat at the bar. They still have a cigarette machine at the bar + two phone booths. After cocktails, we had eggplant rollatini, chicken parm and pork chops with vinegar peppers, finishing dinner with Amaro Averna. The food was good; the service, outstanding. And as a bonus, Kevin Kane from Law & Order SVU was dining there too!

First time at the old fashioned Italian Restaurant where I felt like i was in a Mafia movie with the lighting & the music but all seriousness, the food was delicious and plentiful. Their fried calamari, fried eggplants and baked clams were great. Their Osso buco was divine. And of course their chicken parmagiane was to die for. I'm getting hungry writing this review. Place had valet parking. Would definitely recommend.

The food at Bamonte’s was absolutely delicious—classic, comforting, and full of flavor. We also really appreciated that they were able to accommodate our reservation on very short notice. Overall, we had a nice experience, though the service felt a bit uneven at times and not quite as warm as expected. That said, the food truly stood out, and I hope future visits reflect that same level of care throughout🍝✨ #CallSana #CallSanaRecommends #SanaApproved #TravelingRealtor #TasteOfTheCity 😘

I wanted to try this old fashioned highly rated Italian restaurant. We went for lunch so it wasn't crowded. The food was on par with some of the other Italian restaurants we have dined at. If you like ambience and old world charm, this place is for you. Old carpets, paneling, pictures on the wall. The service was pretty good and the lady manager checked on us to see if everything was satisfactory. As some of the others have mentioned, a bit pricey.
