This is such a nice hotel. The lobby is lovely with lots of really comfortable leather armchairs while you wait for your room. I know how hard it must be for the staff to get people checked in as the check-in time is 4 PM and so many people take redeye flights to get to New York, I saw so many people try to get early check-in, including myself. And I booked through a third-party app, which told me I had a 3 PM check-in time. But James at the front desk totally accommodated me and got me in to my room at 2 PM and I cannot thank him enough. James is the man! And this hotel is a delight. I’m in a junior executive suite and it is one of the nicer hotel rooms I’ve ever gotten in New York. Powerful cold AC in the lobby and in my room. As hot water as you need in the shower/tub combination. Plant-based soap, shampoo and conditioner/amenities. And very affordable for Midtown Manhattan. I highly recommend!
A great hotel in the middle of everywhere. This our second visit to New York. I booked this hotel because is walking distance to many attractions (central park, broadway theatres, Square, etc) or you can take the sub/metro (2-3 minutes walking distance) if you are planning to go further. Hotel is a little old, but clean and big rooms (i really appreciate space above design). Bed are comfortable and all the staff is extremely helpful (don’t forget to tip). I’ll definitely visit again. To improve: TV is extremely prehistoric 🦖 Kudos to all the people working there FOH, BOH
I visited on 7/8, and Aaron was tending the bar. He was fantastic—his drinks were excellent, and I really appreciated his energy, professionalism, and craftsmanship. He made for a great experience, and I wanted to recognize him for it. I returned on 7/9, and Yamii was the bartender. His Old Fashioned was also very good, so I have no complaints about the quality of the drink. What I do have an issue with is how the bill was handled. When Yamii gave me my receipt, there was no itemized breakdown of the charges. I happened to look up at the POS screen and noticed that a 20% gratuity had already been added, but he never mentioned it to me. Because I wasn’t aware of the automatic gratuity, I left an additional tip. While I was sitting at the bar, I also listened as other customers closed out their tabs, and I did not hear anyone being informed that a 20% gratuity had been added to their bills either. I ended up paying $26.01 for one Old Fashioned, plus an additional tip that I would not have left had I known gratuity was already included. If adding an automatic gratuity is your policy, that’s completely your decision. However, I believe customers should be clearly informed before they pay. Failing to disclose an automatic gratuity can easily lead to customers tipping twice, which creates confusion and leaves a negative impression of an otherwise enjoyable experience. I hope you’ll review this with your staff and consider making the automatic gratuity more transparent for future guests.
We’ve been in NY many times, but with a difference, this was the best hotel we’ve ever been to. The staff was extremely friendly! They were upgrading elevators, and we needed to use theirs. With all the inconveniences we may cause on their work, they were always helpful and extremely friendly with our family. The room was great, and the location to enjoy Manhattan is amazing. Easy access to main trains to visit most of the main attractions in the city, easy access to supermarkets that make our stay as a family more comfortable to prepare breakfast, easy dinners, and picnics at Central Park 🥰 Location, room, and staff were superb!
The hotel we learned was a former time share converted into a hotel. The highlights of the property is A. Location… 1 block off Broadway, 2 blocks to Central Park. 7 minute walk to several of the Broadway theaters. B. Very helpful and friendly staff 3. The spacious size of the rooms/suites ave the features if the rooms. We had a very spacious 500+ s.f. Suite with separate bedroom with king bed, separate den/kitchenette. The unit has 2 bathrooms, one with tub/shower one with shower. Excellent closet space. Are there any downsides… 1. The hallways have “dated” decor 2. The elevators are limited and takes a little extra time during check out
