Moxy Brooklyn Williamsburg
New York

Rooms are on the smaller side, but that is kind of expected in New York. What makes up for it though is the great staff. Luis and his team go out of their way to make things impeccable. Cleaning staff kept rooms wonderfully clean and with fresh towels daily. We were there for our son’s wedding week/weekend and they did we everything to make it great and go smoothly! Great location too.
I’ve stayed at Moxy Williamsburg previously and have always enjoyed the property. It’s a beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere, and I’ve also visited several of the food and beverage venues here with friends over the years. I’ve consistently had positive experiences, which makes this review particularly disappointing to write. My concern isn’t with the hotel itself, but with an interaction at LilliStar that unfortunately reflected poorly on the overall guest experience. During entry to an event, the employee managing check-in spoke to attendees in a rude and condescending manner, turning what should have been a simple process into an unnecessarily confrontational interaction. Afterward, I spent nearly two weeks attempting to resolve the matter privately. Marriott Corporate responded promptly, apologized for my experience, documented my concerns, and advised that the feedback had been shared with the hotel’s leadership. I sincerely appreciate the professionalism they showed throughout the process. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts, I never received a direct response from the local venue management. That’s what ultimately left me disappointed. I genuinely like this property and hope the hotel continues to ensure that the level of hospitality at its restaurants and bars reflects the quality of the Moxy brand itself. I would happily visit this and other Moxy hotels and food & beverage venues in the future, but this particular experience at LilliStar, and the lack of local follow-up afterward, left me without confidence in returning there.
Since I rely on hotel reviews to help figure out where to book, I hope this is helpful for the next person! So the hotel itself is nice and in a great location within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars in Brooklyn. The bar in the lobby is convenient and has free drip coffee in the AM. All of the staff were also very kind at the front desk. The rooms are very tiny but provides basically all you need for a short stay. Now onto the negatives… the hotel really advertises their rooftop bar, however, be aware that you’re not actually able to access the rooftop bar from the hotel elevator. You have to go outside and enter through a different door so I don’t think the hotel should be able to claim this as an amenity. If you’re looking for a hotel with true city views, this isn’t the one. It is a view of buildings but if you’re hoping for skyline, be prepared to be incredibly underwhelmed. Also be aware that if you’re on the 10th floor, you will be awake all night with the rooftop music bumping (until 4 am on Saturdays and Sundays). That being said, if you’re here to party and not concerned about a good nights rest, go for it! Otherwise, I would say find somewhere that doesn’t have a rooftop bar.
Great staff, great drinks, rooms comfortable. Although room is tight, it’s a moxy and does the trick. The shower and bathroom felt like telephone booths but it worked. Loved all the hidden spaces for items to hang or be placed. Bed was most comfy ever at a moxy. Loved this brand and can’t wait to stay again. Which I already booked :)
