Disappointing Experience – Plenty Better Options in Times Square With pizza shops and Asian food everywhere in New York City, we were looking for something a little different and decided to give O'Donoghue's in Times Square a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the more disappointing dining experiences we've had in the area. Honestly, we probably would have been better off grabbing food from one of the temporary food vendors outside. The problems started with the service. There were three of us, and after being seated, we weren't given any menus. We had to flag down our waitress to ask for them. Despite clearly seeing three people at the table, she brought only one menu. When I politely asked for two more, she simply walked away without saying a word. A few minutes later, she returned, dropped the additional menus on the table, and walked away again. We then had to flag her down a second time just to place a drink order. Eventually she took our food order, and things only got worse from there. We ordered two appetizers and three entrees. Instead of bringing out the appetizers first, the kitchen delivered everything at the same time..., appetizers and all three dinners together. It completely defeated the purpose of ordering appetizers in the first place. Throughout the meal, getting more drink or any attention from the waitress required repeatedly flagging her down. As for the food, it was equally disappointing. I ordered the sizzling steak, and it was not very good. The steak lacked flavor, and overall the quality was below average. The rest of the table felt the same way about their meals. Nothing stood out as memorable or worth recommending. Between the poor service, poorly timed food delivery, and mediocre food quality, this was not a place I would return to. Times Square has countless dining options, and I would strongly suggest trying somewhere else. You'll likely have much better luck than we did.

Recommended by my kids who are big fans of Irish 🇮🇪 beers 🍻, visited this iconic Irish pub and loved the experience. Nice Beers 🍻 (besides all other options on beverages) and finger licking sides and 80’s music playing makes your visit to O’Donoghue a memorable one. Do try their Nachos with Guinness beer 🍺 and thank me later. Don’t miss this place for a quick visit though you have plenty of options in dive bar category around Manhattan.

Best food ever and the owner is an amazing person. The Apple blossom will forever be in my dreams when i sleep. Great atmosphere and the service was top tier, felt right at home. 1000/10 cannot recommend enough.

12.6.25 it's what you'd expect. Good beer. Bar food. Loud and fun. Friendly staff. Overall, a perfect stop to grab a pint and /or a bite. The shepherd's pie was outstanding. The burger was a little dry (medium). Fries were great.

O’Donoghue’s Times Square is a lively Irish pub nestled in the heart of New York City’s Theater District. With its warm ambiance and friendly staff, it offers a welcoming spot for both locals and visitors. Food & Drink: The menu features a variety of traditional Irish and American dishes. Patrons often recommend the Shepherd’s Pie and Fish and Chips for their hearty portions and authentic flavors. The bar boasts 24 beers on tap, including a selection of Irish brews, ensuring a refreshing choice for every guest. That said, food and drinks are a little pricey compared to other spots in the area. Service: Service is generally attentive, with many guests praising the staff’s friendliness and efficiency. However, during peak hours, some have noted slight delays, which is common in bustling city centers. Atmosphere: The pub exudes an authentic Irish charm, featuring cozy interiors and a vibrant atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing or before catching a Broadway show. Overall: O’Donoghue’s Times Square offers a delightful blend of good food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Just be prepared for slightly higher prices. Still worth a visit whether you’re in the city for a short stay or a local looking for a casual dining spot.
