I want to love this place so bad—I live around the corner and really want a reliable cocktail bar I can visit for a well-made craft cocktail. Unfortunately, the service from bartenders, bouncers, and service staff is atrocious. And the cocktails are extremely mediocre. On multiple occasions, the server did not know how to take a martini order. She has been my server three times, and still after many months has not taken the time to learn what’s behind the bar or how to take a traditional cocktail order. When asked if they had something behind the bar, she immediately said no without checking, even though they did in fact carry it. And she never comes to check in on her tables, even when we have been some of the only people in the bar. In addition, she attempted to force my friend to order a cocktail because “everybody has to be drinking something.” As a server and bartender, this is unacceptable, especially when advertising yourself as an upscale cocktail bar. When she made me go to the bartender to order (because she didn’t know the cocktail I was ordering), the bartenders were giving me extreme attitude, and the negroni I received was not stirred properly, again something unacceptable for the price and prestige this place claims to have. Even the bouncer mocked my friend for the way she held up her ID to him. I have never written a review before because as someone in the service industry, I want to uplift the bars I go to, but it is a pet peeve when service folks are extremely rude and visibly do not care about the experience of their guests, and you can tell that is definitely the case here. Wish you the best, but hope management turns things around.
I love the aesthetic of the place, very intimate perfect for a date. Service was exceptional, greeted with a smile from the bartender sophie and laura. We felt comfortable in every way, we got a table for 2 and drinks and food was spectacular. Chef has very good flavor profile sauces are amazing ive eaten the reuben before and recommend it, but that night we had the french dip and Caesar salad a charcuterie board. And everything was delicious!! Place is 5/5
Jeremy’s is one of the best hidden gems on the Upper East Side. The space is cozy, stylish, and feels like a modern German lounge tucked into Manhattan. The cocktails are outstanding, creative, balanced, and built with German and Austrian ingredients you don’t see anywhere else. The food brings a sharp Nordic–German twist that’s both comforting and inventive. A small spot with big character and some of the most original drinks in the city.
