An UWS staple. Always fun to watch games here and a good place to gather with groups to celebrate birthdays. Tried the chicken tacos for the first time which were pretty good but next time I’m getting the wings because I keep hearing how delicious the wings are! This is a great neighborhood spot for locals.
This restaurant has never given me an issue until a recent visit with my mom. A busy Thursday afternoon it seemed to be only 1 server taking care of outside tables ( 8+ tables ) and even some inside ones. I tried to give grace but it was just horrible. Waited about 10 - 12 minutes to have our order taken , we asked for water while we wait and soft drinks with our meal. While we waited for our food we never received water. My mom is disabled and I had to guide her to the bathroom in which I saw an open table inside closer to the bathroom which would be easier access for us as I am also pregnant. We only sat outside because there werent any open seating inside at the time. I asked our server if we could move to this open table and was basically told no because it was for " 3 or 4 people " when there were clearly other 2 tops sitting at these same booths. I was also asked " how long will you be here " because the game was starting at 7 so im assuming they want to use those boths for larger parties but this was after mentioning my mom had a disability which is shameful. I said forget it , back to our table outside still no water. Our food comes and had to ask for our soft drinks again. We ask for condiments and our drinks in which that takes another 10 minutes. We finished our meal , our server never checked on us at all after bringing us the food and we had to get up to go inside to pay. Hire more servers because obviously 1 server for 8+ tables is decreasing the customer experience , if a server can't be attentive to all tables they shouldnt have 8+ tables. Having to get up and find the server to pay was ridiculous, being denied a more accessible seat after disclosing a disability is completely absurd and discriminatory. Only giving a 2 star because the food was actually good but probably wont ever return here unfortunately.
Great happy hour drinks and food. Affordable pricing, would recommend or even host an event there.
Came for a beer, snack and to watch the baseball and basketball. Mission accomplished. This was a good little sports bar with a bit of a Mexican vibe going on. Staff were super friendly and the locals were fun. Worth a visit! If you get booth seating, you also get your own TV to watch on the wall next to you-love this!
I enjoyed my visit to Bodega 88! The food was excellent — I had the Comida Familiar ($24.25) with Ropa Vieja(+$1.25), and it was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. The vibe was lively but comfortable, a great spot to enjoy a nice meal and enjoy watching sports. Yes, they have great TVs, too! The service was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Definitely a spot l'll be coming back to soon!
