This was the BEST hotel stay and experiences I’ve had in a long time! To start, Darren and Fletcher, were a HUGE help to me when the third party vendor somehow mixed up my customer profile with someone else. Fletcher went the extra mile, talking with the third party and got me squared away. I’m so grateful because I was tired after a very long travel day! Fletcher, you get the MVP! My room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was super helpful, buzzing around to clean or simply answer your questions with a smile on their face! Kia (I hope I spelled that right) helped me book transportation to the airport. And on the day of my departure, even with a super BUSY lobby, Kia took the extra mile and escorted me to my transportation who couldn’t get to the front of the hotel due to traffic. And by the way, I know this is about the property, but Ramon, my transportation, was so friendly and a safe driver. The breakfast was amazing! The House Bar restaurant has the tastiest fried Brussel sprouts. The bartender was so kind and the chef even went over with me the recipe for the sprouts! Overall 20 out of 10 will return.
Let‘s start with the rooms: size for a family with a teenage child was okay, rooms were clean. We‘ve had 2 incidents during our 1 week stay… There was a technical problem in the room above ours and we had a wet cieling of about 1,5 sqm (got fixed within 1 day but no compensation offered). The handshower was not working and we told that to the technical staff, but it has not been repaired. The audio Isolation has been pretty bad, you could hear everybody walking outside and the bell Sound of the elevator. The breakfast was for free, but the choice & atmosphere of the location were poor, plastic cutlery, paper cups and plates … We paid roundabout 4500$ (okay FIFA WC & 4th of July week)for a week and expected something better. Prices are far too high! The location just 3 Blocks away from the BRKLN bridge was great but a Fire & Police Station nearby kept you awake half of the night. Public transport within 10min walking distance, grocery Store & supermarket nearby. We‘ve booked our stay via expedia and the photos there & on the homepage do not represent the current status. The staff was friendly and trying to help but due to company policy not really able to do so. While we reported 2 issues at once to the staff no compensation has been offered (not even some free drinks at the bar) Wouldn‘t recommend it…
We were in Brooklyn for my friend's weekend wedding and I made a big mistake of making a bad hotel reservation. But as soon as we decided we couldn't stay another night there, we got on the phone and booked a room at Hamptons Inn Brooklyn Downtown. I was impressed by Brian at the front desk who assisted us with checking in. We arrived at the hotel around 10 am and he got us checked in right a way which that was a big help because we had Wedding reception at 5 p.m. The hotel is in a safe area, clean and reasonable price. And Brian helped us with a place to get good sandwiches for breakfast Brian was a good customer service he deserves a raise.
I don't leave reviews, but I have to leave one pertaining to a staff member Allie!! She is absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Super personable, knowledgeable and helpful. She really is a shining star. She made myself and my son feel so welcome. Allie girl never change! The overall staff during out stay was pleasant. Quick tip, don't do Valet, just do the self park where you drive your car in and the attendant parks it. Beware it is not in an out privileges for one price, so don't park until ready to be in for the night!
The young woman working at the front desk, Jasmin, was absolutely the most outstanding young service attendant I can remember having the pleasure of working with. She was wonderful to me and my older parents- knowledgeable, informative, accommodating, helpful, patient— everything you would hope for, while being friendly, actually smiled as if she enjoyed being herself at her job and kept herself neat and presentable in an appropriately, professional yet attractive way- she also gave an excellent pizza recommendation nearby- best slice I’ve had! I have found this to be extremely rare in most middle of the road to mid high end places anyone may go. She is outstanding. The rest of the front desk were also pleasant and helpful. The room was very small, and was missing a fridge, no microwave. The front desk had one sent up no problem. They said the room normally has one but sometimes things may get taken out for maintenance and that had not been replaced. As with almost all hotels now and most places, the lighting is HIDEOUS— bright LED, stark white, no warmth, not inviting and is an ENORMOUS downgrade to any place, but especially a hotel. These lights are dangerous to our health long term and surprisingly short term as well and emerging research will continue to shed light on the ways that they do effect many people and contribute to many common issues people have and live with thinking it’s normal. In my opinion, a hotel could stand out these days by caring about the lighting and if LED is a must at least care a little and put in lights that have warmth similar to an incandescent. Though still damaging, it at least has a pleasant, welcoming appeal at a home away from home.
