All Marriott hotels start at 5 stars for me and then I just notice the things that are not as good as other Marriott I've stayed and start removing stars from the review bars on where this Marriott stacks up too. For this Marriott the location is excellent if you are going to watch a show on Broadway. Very convenient for the play and also get a subway to anywhere else you have to go. The rooms are generally very nice and this hotel also has everything connected and controlled through a tablet which is very appealing to me. They also have a nice bar right in the hotel that is open till late. The only downside is the size. Now hotels in major cities like this like New York or Tokyo are small and pricey. Two things that can sort of negatively affect your opinion but considering they are all like that in the area, you have to compare accordingly. The only real downside for me is that the toilet is literally next to to the shower to the point that you could shower while using the toilet (I took a picture of my hand holding the shower handle on top of the toilet seat as a joke) and the sink is outside to wash your hands after using the restroom. I feel that they could have done a better design for this to avoid it. It didn't appeal to me and it's the only thing keeping me from giving this hotel 5 stars. I will probably stay here again when I go to watch another play.
Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway with my husband. The location was perfect with a quick walk to Times Square and multiple places to eat nearby. Check in and Check out was smooth and simple. The room was clean and very modern. I loved the layout and everything about it. Definitely reminds you of a cruise cabin, but no complaints. We loved it (Especially the blackout curtains)! As far a customer service, kudos to the staff. Evon and Leslie made my stay perfect. From hospitality to local recommendations these two were heaven sent! If I have to stay in Times Square in the future, I would definitely return.
The CitizenM in Times Square is a great place to stay if you’re looking for an affordable, clean hotel that’s located in Times Square. The rooms were clean and the beds are XL King beds and so comfy. I also liked that everything in the room (lights, shades, etc.) was controlled by an Ipad. My only complaint about the room, was the door/ walls were really thin. I could hear people in the room next to me opening and closing their shades and it felt like people passing by my room were in my room lol. The bar/ lobby area is so cute and cozy. I spent most of my time out of the hotel, but it was a great place to end the day. Also, the staff is amazing, particularly CJ and Grace. They were so welcoming, personable and helpful, it made the stay even better. Overall, i’d really recommend this hotel and i’d be back!!
Perfect location to be....Its just out of the way enough. Was a really short walk to the Time Square epicenter. Lots of food options around and a few Bars 🍸 as well. The Playwright Irish Bar is right around the corner. The Hotel also has a really nice Bar located inside. The Hotel itself was super modern and had a great vibe 🙂 Rooms were a bit small but how much time do you actually spend there. Great job and enjoy your stay.
I'm relieved to find that even after the buyout, CitizenM offers a consistent experience. (Though CitizenM's signature decor such as the rag doll and balloon dog were missing from my room, sorry to say.) The rooms are a weird blend of premium and minimalist - you get the bare essentials in good quality, no more and no less. Comfortable bed and linens, a sink with soap and lotion, a shower with shower gel and conditioner, a toilet, a (VERY small) fridge, a hair dryer, a tv and remote, a desk with pen and notepad, a seat, a very deep under-bed drawer, a closet with hangers, trash and recycling receptacles. And the room control tablet. You will not find any means of heating up food or making a hot drink, nor even utensils for takeout or a drinking glass to enjoy New York's excellent tap water. Skipping the amenities allows the hotel to offer a great location at a surprising price, so if you're very prepared (or willing to walk to CVS around the corner) and just need a place to sleep, shower, and keep your stuff, this is a good place to crash close to all the action.
