Awesome to be in such a historic place. To be where Bob Dylan used to go when he was at his best (IMO). Pretty cool saw Jovi Greene with my son who was thrilled.

Awesome place to see live acts play live music :). Drinks are reasonably priced. They allow outside food because they only serve drinks. Nice! There's more than enough local options to bring in. Nachos go great with drinks!

April 16, 2026 I am a Japanese visitor from Tokyo. When I visit The Bitter End, it feels less like stepping into a typical live music venue and more like touching a living piece of New York’s musical history. Unlike large, glamorous concert halls, this place seems to still carry the presence of artists from their early, unknown days. It naturally sparks the imagination in a way that feels almost intangible. The Greenwich Village area has long been a place where countless musicians honed their craft, and Cyndi Lauper built her career within that very kind of scene. Even if there is no clear record that she performed on this exact stage, considering the atmosphere of that era, it’s easy to picture her singing in a venue just like this. When you are actually inside, you may find yourself thinking, “Perhaps she once sang at this very distance from the audience.” It becomes more than just listening to music—it turns into a special, almost personal experience. The closeness between the performers and the audience, along with the simplicity of the stage, feels strikingly real. It gives you a sense of the “starting point” before artists became stars, which is a unique charm of this place. New York has many famous tourist attractions, but coming here makes you quietly realize that stars were not stars from the beginning. And when you think about how their success is built step by step, it somehow gives you a sense of encouragement. It may not be flashy, but that is exactly why you can feel a genuine, authentic story here. For anyone who wants to experience something like that, this is a live music venue I would highly recommend visiting at least once.

Classic live music venue. Intimate setting. See and hear local musicians on their way.

Grungy Greenwich village hole in the wall joint with a good sound system, very friendly staff and reasonable drink policy and prices. Saw guitar phenom Stanley Jordan reimagining what Hendrix would be doing if still alive. Good show and historic venue.
