The Motto Chelsea has become my wife’s favorite place to stay whenever work brings her to New York City, and after staying here with her several times, I completely understand why. One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is its location. It’s situated in a safe, vibrant area of Chelsea with countless restaurants, cafés, and bars all within easy walking distance. One of our favorite spots is the hotel’s own restaurant, Lulla, which has become a must-visit every time we’re in town. Madison Square Park is just a block away, making it a great place to take a walk, relax, or enjoy the city atmosphere. Having a Whole Foods Market only a block away is also incredibly convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, or anything else you might need during your stay. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, which is to be expected for many boutique hotels in Manhattan, but they’re thoughtfully designed, modern, and make excellent use of the space. Everything feels clean, stylish, and very well maintained. Despite the compact size, the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. If you have the opportunity to stay on one of the higher floors, you’re rewarded with some beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline that make the experience even more enjoyable. What really sets the Motto Chelsea apart, though, is the staff. Every interaction we’ve had has been consistently positive. Everyone we’ve encountered has been welcoming, professional, genuinely friendly, and eager to help with anything we needed. It’s clear they take pride in making guests feel at home, and that level of hospitality leaves a lasting impression. Overall, the Motto Chelsea offers a fantastic combination of location, comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service. Whether you’re visiting New York City for business or a weekend getaway, it’s an excellent place to stay. We look forward to returning every time we’re back in the city, and it’s easy to see why this has become our go-to hotel in Manhattan.

overall this isnt a bad hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed and well decorated. Clean. Staff is nice. I didnt try the food but had a drink at the bar, and the staff could not have been nicer. Very lively in a good way. Fun atmosphere The cons of this place are: 1. The biggest issue this hotel has are the elevators. there are 4 elevators servicing 40+ floors. and unlike other hotels ive stayed at that assign you a an elevator or have different elevators assigned for specific floors, you can get on any elevator at any time and so many times We were stopping at a ton of floors on the way up and a ton of floors on the way down. The entire weekend I was there, only 3 of the 4 elevators were working at any given time and it didnt seem like one was broke bc the elevator that wasnt working would change throughout the day. Then to top it off they would use one of the working elevators as an elevator for staff to bring out towels, etc. esp when the place was at its busiest. So odd. as if no one was thinking. so you are standing in line and waiting up to 10 minutes just to get on an elevator. They need to figure out the elevator situation. 2. the rooms are fine size for nyc but I could not imagine being with another person in the room. It would be really tough. so make sure that if you are traveling with someone, that you are ok not having much space. one person, the room is fine, 2, it would not work for me. 3. there is no real place to hang your clothes. they have hooks throughout the room and give you 3 hangars. you have to hang your clothes on a hangar that you hang on a hook. I had never seen this before. if you had a lot of things to hang and if you like organiation, this place would be tough. overall, i think its a fine hotel. Just make sure you are not overpaying for it. I stayed here because it was during the world cup and the city was expensive and the price was good. I would stay here again but it would have to be a good price bc of the stuff I mentioned.

Motto by Hilton Chelsea is a smart, well-designed hotel that makes excellent use of a small footprint. The rooms are compact, but the hotel delivers exactly what many travelers need: a great location, clean spaces, and thoughtful design. The hotel still feels brand new, and everything was exceptionally clean during my stay. The room itself was small, but the layout made very efficient use of the space. For a solo traveler, it worked very well. Two people could certainly stay here, but it would feel tight, especially with luggage. One of the pleasant surprises was the view, which was much better than I expected. Combined with the modern design, the rooms feel more open than their size suggests. The room includes an empty mini refrigerator, which is always useful, but there is no coffee maker in the room. Complimentary coffee is available in the lobby starting at 6:30 a.m., breakfast service begins at 7:00 a.m., and room service breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. Early risers should plan accordingly. The hotel also offers complimentary bicycles for up to two hours, which is a nice perk and an enjoyable way to explore the neighborhood. Overall, Motto by Hilton Chelsea is an excellent option for travelers who prioritize location, cleanliness, and efficient design over room size. I would happily stay here again, particularly when traveling solo or on a short trip to New York.

Our experience at the Motto exceeded expectations. Priscilla helped us numerous occasions with logistics in a warm, professional demeanor. The restaurant served quality meals and service. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was superb for many of our outings. I definitely recommend booking here for your next trip. Great stay all around.

Stayed here last week with my two teenage daughters - one of six Hiltons we stayed in during a 7-night trip. I booked a room with a bunk bed (king on bottom), and honestly, I was dreading it. I have stayed in small NYC rooms before, and I feared we'd be stuffed in like sardines. Not the case here! This hotel offered the best-designed room ever. Features like a vanity outside the bathroom, tons of clever shelving and storage compartments, and multiple wall hooks make this place super user friendly and convenient. It was very comfortable, even for a longer stay. Service was great as well, and the hotel is very stylishly designed. Nice restaurant downstairs, too.
