Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown
New York
Avis
Decent, budget friendly option in the heart of the financial district. Stayed for 2 nights. The room was ok with a comfortable bed but it had some oddities. The towel rack was inside the shower stall which made no sense. There was also no place in the bathroom to put them. The drapes also could not be fully closed. Aside from these it was a decent place to lay our heads. Staff was friendly and courteous.
Used to always stay here before Covid for business trips since it’s so close to the office and the rooms were decent. But my recent business trip (May 2026) was a total disaster. I checked in at around 8-ish at night. It was already a long day after flight and work, so I couldn’t wait to check in and wind down. But my corporate credit card didn’t work! The machine kept declining my pin. BUT I literally just used my card and pin at a restaurant for dinner so I even called the bank to ask what happened and reset the pin and still didn’t work! (I used the card next day to buy breakfast and it was fine too so I’m sure it was the hotels problem) I asked if I could just swipe and sign. Nope pin only. And since I booked this hotel through my work, the other way is to get an authorization from my work. And the staff literally asked me if I can get someone from work to authorize me. Seriously? At 8:30p? So we end up using my colleagues corporate card. When I got up to the room, it’s stuffy and I could actually smell hint of dog. The room ac control sucked and even when you turn it off the fan would still be running loudly I don’t understand and so the whole night I had to bear the loud noise. The shower also wasn’t nice it didn’t even have a glass partition? It’s just shower curtain. That’s not what I remembered how the room looked when I stayed here years ago. After shower I finally lost it when I saw there’s no hair dryer! I called the front desk and they asked me to look under the sink for Christ sake there’s no drawer underneath it’s just the piping! So it took them a good amount of time to finally have someone bring up a hair dryer when my hair already half air dried. I’m still in disbelief how a hotel in downtown core financial district operates like this and gave me room like this.
Solid hotel. Great location with Battery Park, ferries, and a subway station a minute or so from hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was decent size for NYC with standard setup and a great view. Lobby coffee service was very convenient. Only complaint would be the faulty AC unit. Sometimes it would work perfectly and other times it would refuse to work.
Nice spacious and clean room. Very comfy bed. Quiet location, only noise near our room on 21st floor was the ice machine beside us when people used it it was loud. A better location for that may be a good idea. You must request your room to be serviced. Staff were so nice and helpful. Very efficient and pleasant. Hotel is a good location, downtown and near a subway station, battery park and the Staten island ferry all across the street.
I absolutely loved my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center. From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff was so professional and genuinely kind, which made a great first impression. The room itself was beautiful, very clean, and surprisingly spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, I slept so well every night. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping everything fresh and spotless during my stay. One of my favorite parts was the bathroom. It was huge with really good lighting, which made getting ready so easy. The location was also super convenient. Everything was close by, and it made getting around the city really simple. Overall, I had such a great experience and would definitely stay here again!
