This is a restaurant that repurposes their space every Saturday night for dancing. The DJ plays retro music from the 70s 80s and 90s. The crowd is fun, well behaved and there’s a fantastic mix of songs by the DJ. The line for entry starts forming around 9:45 pm and doors open at 10 PM or shortly thereafter. NOTE: $20 ENTRY FEE CAN BE PAID ONLY IN CASH. There are tables for seating which have been pushed against the walls so you might have a place to sit and place your coat. There is also a coat check by the front door. Restaurant bar remains open so you can buy drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Not really a CLUB as Gen X folks would think...it's a Bar (by day) and called a Club on Saturday nights. Not a very big place...cash only to get in then debit or credit for drinks. The music was good and had a good time dancing but since it was kinda small the dance floor area was a bit crowded. It wasn't what we had expected as far as a " Dance Club" but we had fun none the less.
RetroClubNYC is an absolute blast! The DJ played nothing but 70s, 80s, and 90s hits all night and the whole crowd was on their feet the entire time. Pure joy from start to finish. If you love great music and want to actually dance, this is your place. Already planning my next visit!
We had an absolute great time. First, we went to MJ Smith's for drinks earlier in the afternoon. They told us about the retro club to come back at 10:00 p.m. We did and we had an absolute blast. DJ was playing awesome music from the '60s, '70s '80s and '90s. Would go again
