We checked this place out for an after dinner drink recently and had a great time. They were doing a ski lodge mountain theme and had a drink menu to match the theme. Since there were only 2 of us, we passed on the shot-ski but what a fun idea. My wife enjoyed her Moira Rose and I liked my Mahogany Teakwood. The views of the Empire State Building and partial views of Times Square are awesome. The drink prices were reasonable, especially for the views. We would definitely check this place out again.
Loved the vibe on Saturday April 11th when they had DJs playing live music. The drinks and service were good. I had a lot of fun here and will be back just for the good music and rooftop views. We did have to wait a few minutes for a host to seat us for our reservation, but they made up for it by seating us at the cool spinning seat. My only complaint is: why is a bar called “Magic Hour” ski lodge themed…? It was weird to see winter decor in the spring. I was really hoping for better decor that matches the season and name. Maybe consider changing the theme to magic/carnival/fantasy instead of Christmas trees… NY has enough of that already during the holiday season.
Been here a few times and overall I would say I’m not that impressed with Magic Hour. Best thing it has gong for it is its location, you have some cool views of Hudson Yards and the Empire State Building, but not the best rooftop view you can find. We sat inside at a table and although it really wasn’t that busy service was slow and I had to get up and order my 2nd drink from the bar. Order the same drink twice, both times it was made differently. The second was extremely watered down, to much ice and pretty carelessly made it seemed. 3 cocktails were imo very overpriced even for the city at $68 with a reasonable tip. The views are pretty good, but overall if I’m heading for a night out .. this spot isn’t worth it for more than one drink.
Delicious drinks, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Pamela was our waitress. She was great! Loved the way they decorated the bar and lounge. Will def come back on our next visit to the city.
Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge is an absolute vibe. The atmosphere is next level—fun, stylish, and perfectly over-the-top in the best way. Incredible views, great music, and an energy that makes it feel like more than just a rooftop bar. The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. Drinks were on point, the space is super Instagram-worthy without feeling cheesy, and the overall setup is just plain fun. If you’re looking for a rooftop spot in NYC that actually lives up to the hype, Magic Hour delivers. Would definitely come back. If you want it shorter, more hype-y, or more laid-back, say the word.
