In the morning, we'll drive to Thousand Islands. Located at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario, this 1,864-island lake offers a chance to enjoy an exclusive Thousand Islands cruise, admiring the world's shortest international bridge and the private island homes of the rich and famous. Through the crystal-clear waters and stunning scenery, we'll understand why it's known as the freshwater boating capital of the world. We'll then visit the Erie Canal Museum, showcasing the 200-year history of the Erie Canal through interactive exhibits, original artifacts, and public programs. Finally, we'll return to New York City for the end of our enjoyable journey. Itinerary: New York → Thousand Islands Cruise (U.S. Side) (Optional, 135 mins) → Erie Canal Museum (Optional, 45 mins) → New York Thousand Island Cruise - U.S. Side The Thousand Islands stretch for 50 miles in the northeast corner of Lake Ontario, on the US-Canada border. The US border lies in New York State, while the Canadian border lies closer to Lake Ontario. Smaller islands often have only a single house. A Thousand Islands cruise offers breathtaking scenery, and along the islands you'll see traces of history. Take a leisurely boat trip through the archipelago, admiring the diverse mansions and islands of varying sizes and shapes. Erie Canal Museum The Erie Canal Museum located in Downtown Syracuse, NY, is dedicated showcasing the 1850 National Register Weighlock Building, the last remaining structure of its kind, and to telling the incredible adventure story of the Erie Canal.
