Description

Meet your guide at Warren Street & Broadway, beside City Hall Park—an easy, transit-friendly starting point. A brief overview sets the context for the World Trade Center site and today’s route. Walk to St. Paul’s Chapel, which served as a critical volunteer relief center after 9/11. Learn how the chapel supported months of recovery efforts and why it’s a key stop in understanding the neighborhood’s story. Continue along Broadway to Trinity Church and the FDNY Ten House. View the firefighters’ Memorial Wall and hear how first responders from this firehouse contributed on the day of the attacks and in the aftermath. Enter the 9/11 Memorial Plaza to see the North and South reflecting pools in the Twin Towers’ footprints. Your guide will explain the timeline of September 11, the design of the memorial, and the area’s recovery and rebuilding. Pause at the Survivor Tree, a Callery pear rescued from the site and replanted as a living symbol of resilience. Then step inside the Oculus, the transit hub that anchors the renewed World Trade Center campus and represents the city’s forward motion. The guided portion ends by One World Trade Center. Use your included timed entry to One World Observatory: after routine security, ride high-speed elevators to the observation levels and explore at your own pace, with floor-to-ceiling, 360° views over Manhattan and New York Harbor. (Observatory visit is self-guided; the 9/11 Museum is not included.)
