Very thin walls!! You can literally listen to everything next to you!! Neighbors conversations, tv, phone alarms, etc. If you’re sound sensitive like me, I do not recommend you book. Otherwise, the place is exactly what they offer, tiny space affordable place great location.
For the price, it's reasonable in terms of space and amenities. The rooms have everything you really need (extra towels, enough lights and outlets, desk) and were clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great. On the downside, it was a little more "budget" in terms of furnishings than I had anticipated from the website. E.g. the bed and desk quality was closer to kids' furniture than what I'm used to in an average hotel, and the in-room sink was tiny. There were some maintenance issues as well: one of the shared bathrooms I tried had the shower stuck on scalding and in the other, the handle kept falling off. The safe in the room did not work either. Finally, I'd wished the rooms were a bit more sound-insulated, though people walking around on the floor were mostly pretty quiet. Overall I'd say it feels somewhere between a standard hotel and a hostel. Not a bad option on high-price weekends if it's at a steep discount from other hotels in the area, but not my first choice otherwise.
I stayed for 1 week in a double bunk bed. The room was very small but we were running around the city so we only rested our heads. The staff did a great job cleaning both the room and the shared bathrooms. I was never grossed out by using the bathroom at all. The roof deck was very comfortable. Location for us was great, just a few blocks from E F ans 6 trains. I would stay here again.
Great place to stay! Hostel like environment (reserved the single twin room, sink in room full restroom in hallway) allows for a more budget friendly stay while visiting the city. They offer lower cost options by booking their multi bunk rooms. In a great area and near a lot of quick food places. Subway was nearby allowing easy access to public transit if needed. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends, and will definitely be my spot to stay when visiting.
I was quite unsure about booking this "pod" but I'm so glad that I took a chance! The quality is comparable to solid European hostels -- ironed linens, comfortable mattresses and pillows, and clean bathrooms. No stink anywhere. The shared bathrooms are truly private - with a toilet, a full sink, and a shower with rainfall showerhead. The shampoo/condition/body soap bottles are filled with actual liquid, not watered down at all. In my room (with only a twin), I was happy to see the wash basin with soap pods (pun intended) and plastic cups. There's a hook right there for your towel. I loved that I could control my own temp setting. The lounge off the lobby was quite comfy. There's a sports bar next door if you want to grab a pint. I forgot about the rooftop but will check it out next time! The staff was very polite (and dressed up!) and offered to take my bags upstairs when I came in or store them after my check out. In short, this is way better than staying in Hampton Inn near Penn Station, where I've stayed in the past.
