The hotel is in a great location and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We loved reading about the history of the hotel and the connection to Bob Dylan and other celebrities. We knew the room wouldn't be ready when we got to the hotel at 11 AM, but the staff held our bags and said they would call us as soon as the room was ready, so we did some exploring and they called before the scheduled check-in time. Our window looked out to a wall 6" away, but we were only in the room to sleep so it wasn't a big deal. The complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise! Coffee, tea, cappuccino, and a variety of fresh baked goods.
We stayed here for one night and it was perfect! The room was comfortable. It had a small refrigerator in case you need to use it. The towels and sheets were very soft and clean. The price was reasonable and the location is awesome. The front desk personal is very friendly and helpful. We really recommend this hotel.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the Washington Square Hotel for about a week and had a wonderful experience. Our room was spacious and comfortable, located on the second floor facing the street. The hotel has a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels very different from the large chain hotels. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. One nice touch was the complimentary morning refreshments, including coffee, orange juice, water, and small pastries. Coffee is also available throughout the day, although it is served from thermoses, so it is not always as hot as we would have liked. The location is outstanding. The hotel is just steps from Washington Square Park and within walking distance of supermarkets, laundromats, restaurants, cafés, and many other conveniences. This makes it especially convenient for visitors staying in New York for an extended period. The subway is also very close, making it easy to reach any part of the city. We particularly enjoyed the neighborhood’s relaxed atmosphere, with its young population, local character, and quieter feel compared to some of Manhattan’s busier areas. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return on a future visit to New York. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We loved our stay at this historic little hotel. The staff were all very nice. Juan at the desk was a superstar helping us get our room early after a redeye flight. Massive appreciation from our family. The rooms are small but well taken care of. If you’re expecting a luxury Vegas style hotel, this is not it. It’s an old building yet very charming. It compares well with any other boutique hotel in London or Paris. Free breakfast! And really good for a continental style. There are so many restaurants in the area if you need something bigger. The neighborhood speaks for itself. Pure New York.
We stayed at the end of May and our stay was lovely. We arrived earlier and had planned to leave our bags with them while we walked around the city but our room was ready for us at 10am! Everyone we talked to was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean. The shower was very nice with great pressure. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but I believe they have a little breakfast spread in the mornings. We did utilize the coffee bar and that was nice. The hotel is right next to Washington Square Park which was nice to walk around and hang out in. The area felt very safe - full of college students and tons of great food. We checked out early but wanted to still be able to walk around the city without luggage so they held our bags for us until we were ready. We would absolutely stay here again when we visit the city.
