I reserved three rooms at The Pearl Hotel for two nights. While the location was absolutely awesome and the rooms were spacious, it did not make up for an incredibly uncomfortable stay in one of the rooms because the air conditioning barely worked at all. After my family told me the next day that they had had a miserable night's sleep without air conditioning, I reported it to the front desk. I was told by the person working at the time that he just had to reset something, and the air conditioning would start working again soon. Whatever was supposed to happen, did not, so after speaking to someone again in reception, they sent up a fan. That still meant my family had a second night of horrible sleep! I spoke to the manager about the situation after the second night, but he said that because we had already paid, the only thing he could do was give us a late check-out (in only ONE of the three rooms). That response was totally unacceptable, considering we spent almost $3,000.00 for three rooms. Needless to say, my family members who spent nearly $1,000.00 to suffer through two nights in mid-July were really angry. The least that management should have done was to offer a partial refund or a voucher for a future stay. With so many other options of places to stay in NYC and inflexible management, I would definitely look for somewhere else to stay. :(

We had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and comfortably fit our group of 3 adults and 3 kids. The price was fantastic for the location, making it an excellent value. Breakfast was good, and adding a cereal option would make it even better. The staff was helpful, and although parking is about 3–4 blocks away, it wasn’t a problem. We would definitely stay here again!

We randomly found this hotel through our credit card company’s benefits, and I’m so glad we did! We got a Deluxe Suite, which turned out to be perfect for our family of four. It’s honestly very roomy, especially for a NYC hotel room. The entire hotel was clean and comfortable, and all staff were friendly and helpful. Be advised that rooms on lower floors get a lot of city noise at night, so you might want to bring earplugs. The included continental breakfast was a huge bonus, and I thought it was great that they labeled kosher and gluten-free food for people for whom that’s relevant. The location of The Pearl Hotel couldn’t be beat. You are in the heart of the theater district and very near Times Square. We got around very easily by the subway station on the next block, and via bus lines two blocks away. Of course, there’s tons of shopping and dining immediately around the hotel. We travel to NYC regularly, and this was our favorite hotel. Our stay at The Pearl has made us loyal— we will definitely be back on our next visit to the city.

Disappointing. We arrived late at night having travelled for nearly 20 hours only to be told they had over-booked and didn’t have a room for us. Then they tried to put us in a different hotel in a king size bed - three adults! Then they miraculously found us a room after all. Not a great start especially as we had booked weeks ago and they had plenty of time to sort this out. Decor is tired and dated. No drinking water anywhere in the hotel apart from one very old expensive bottle in our room for 8USD! No water fountain even. Breakfast supplied on cardboard plates and with plastic cutlery. Ugh. Most of the staff were lovely however - smiley and helpful. But I do not recommend this hotel at all. So many others in the area do it much better at a similar price.

We had wonderful stay at The Pearl. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Each person we met was great! The hotel is very clean, and the room was comfortable and quiet. It was the perfect location to walk to theaters and see a couple of plays. The Empire Steak House attached to the hotel was excellent. We will definitely stay at The Pearl again!
