We had a lovely stay at (The Mercer). We look forward to staying here again soon. We enjoyed socializing with other guests and the hotel staff. Very pleasant experience overall. The concierge team at (The Mercer) is second to none. We especially wanted to acknowledge Nate and Emily. Emily, if you read this, you are such a gem! (The Mercer) is fortunate to have you. We were here for a special occasion and the team was responsive, competent, and helpful. My husband arranged flowers for me upon arrival which were seamlessly executed and prepared tastefully. The welcome amenities were thoughtful too. We found the front desk team to be warm and accommodating. We enjoyed the turn down service. The rooms are equipped with all of the essentials one could need including a phone charger, waters, snacks, and quality toiletries. Things to note: • The walls are thin as noted in some reviews. • Soft pillows - my husband asked for a firm pillow and the hotel promptly sent someone to our room with a firmer option. However, the pillow provided was still soft. Probably not an issue for most people, unfortunately my husband has severe neck pain and requires a firm pillow. • The toiletries are scented - (The Mercer) team, this is an excellent area of opportunity. Love the aluminum packaging, wish the products had a cleaner ingredient list. I will add, I tried to enter the hotel at one point and the doorman seemed “surprised” that we were staying there. The same gentleman also seemed surprised to see us get into a black car. The other staff made up for it in spades, simply noting this as some reviews do mention feeling a sense of pretentiousness from the staff. We loved the location of the hotel and appreciated ample opportunity for retail therapy. The hotel itself is generally pretty quiet and peaceful. We like that the hotel is understated and discreet. It is true what they say: the Mercer treats all guests like their celebrity clientele.
My recent stay at (The Mercer) was phenomenal, and I also proposed to my girlfriend. Tomás was absolutely integral in helping making this moment special and is responsible for it being so memorable and effortless. He treated my family, guests and my girlfriend and I with utmost hospitality, warmth and made us feel incredibly special. For the proposal, Tomás had housekeeping leave rose petals covering the entire room and bed, chilled champagne, caviar and a beautiful card from (The Mercer) family - incredibly special and above and beyond what I was expecting. Without Tomás this wouldn’t have been possible. I also have to share gratitude to Karl, Nate and housekeeping for being amazing and so attentive. Tatiana and Alejandro from Sartianos attention to detail and phenomenal service was exceptional. My family and guests kept saying how incredible the evening was. The room was exquisite - ultra quiet - double or even triple pained windows, a fantastic view of Prince St. and the bed was monumentally comfortable. We had room service the following morning and felt truly pampered and special. Thank you again Tomás for making my engagement truly unforgettable. (The Mercer) is a special place and so are the staff 🙏🏼
Stopped by for drinks. The bar has an awesome vibe an ambiance. If you are looking for something quieter, just hang out upstairs. Great cocktails. Will be back
Mixed bag: $1.5k a night for a so-so room is what it is—but the service just wasn’t there. Hit-and-miss. 45 minutes to get a $30 pot of coffee delivered, and having to call three times on a broken room phone (on speaker) is simply not up to standard. We asked to upgrade to a loft at our own cost and were told we’d receive options throughout the day—which never came. It’s a whole series of events like these that downgrade the experience to a 4-star vibe. Even if the room were half the price, it would still be suboptimal. Nate and Thom at the desk were great, but there’s a slight snarky vibe from some of the staff, which is just not okay in 2025. The highlight of the hotel is the cleaning staff: they operate like a trauma team. Twice a day, five of them enter the space and in five minutes it’s all brand new. Bravo—they deserve a raise. Overall, the place is way past its peak and, if not course-corrected, will decline further. There are just too many options at this price point in NYC. Oh yeah, one more thing: the food was terrible.
